what is the minimum population needed for a city info names to have value?
also does all must have traffic? or should the name be developed into a mini site?

Even small cities 1k+ might have some value: it all depends on tourism/interest potential. To garner traffic, you'll have to develop the site, however. Good luck!

The future of internet is local. City domains will appreciate in value and will be the most sought after domains in 2010. Better get a city name in the ccTLD of that country like www.vijayawada.in for a city named vijayawada in India. People tend to like vertical portals much more than horizontal portals like yahoo.
