Hello,
I've seen this acronym in the VR threads. I understand that VR domains aren't as of yet "selling like hotcakes" as everyone expected but whenever there is mention of any vr headsets anywhere online 80% of the time this "FOV" is mentioned in the description. so I wondered. can this acronym/abbreviation have any value in a domain? I have seen this FOV being mentioned in the Gaming circles as well as vr headsets.
Plus there is this company FOVE whose website is located on GetFove.com
they are the first company to develop vr headsets with eyetracking. supposedly.
I see this FOVE is a play on the FOV (Field of Vision) and (Field of View) acronym. FOVE? Field of View Entertainment?
Anyways with the lackluster VR domains sales where some domains sell for $10K while others for barely over $100.
can "FOV" as opposed to "IOT" and "VR" and "MMO" compete or rival the sales of these hot hot hot acronyms?
FOV only gets about 35,000 searches per month.
In retrospect, POV has always been popular in the "unmentionables" niches. POV? FOV?
POV - Point of View? (368,000 searches per month)
FOV - Field of View? only 33,000
The original question of this post is probably answered by these numbers already but FOV does get over 10 million results in the searches.
As such ALL VR headsets in most tech websites call them FOV's. and use it interchangeably with HMD (Head Mounted Displays)
I know this probably should be in the VR thread but I feel that this can be asked in general section as VR and FOV aren't exactly the same. but if it's VR then mods please move to VR thread. just wanted to get question answered before I make any move on FOV domains. Thanks.
