Hi All,

I am trying to understand what is considered as a good LLLL domain name. I usually look at the below. Are they correct and can you guys add any you look at?

.Com domain extension
Pronounceable
All premium letters or 3 premium and one semi premium
Other extensions at least a few taken
Other extensions at least a few have genuine websites and not just parked
Good Estibot appraisal

Thanks

In my opinion,

a LLLL domain name which has a real value is pronouncable (CVCV) and of course in .com extension. One other factor of value can also be your name is an acronym. It will increase the number of potential end users

Hi,

The above criteria are excellent, as a general guide. I would also add that the domain needs to look good and if it is a brandable that is, potentially, an amalgam of two words or ideas then that would be another layer of value; e.g. pirc.com - personal circulars.

Also, don't be too swayed over the so-called "premium" letters. All letters are premium, depending on the market they relate to, and a case in point, is the $80,000 sale of qiku.com back in 2013; for the Chinese market, particularly, this domain could be perfect.

.Com domain extension > yes

Pronounceable > yes

All premium letters or 3 premium and one semi premium >
what is a premium letter, are "x and y" premium, is "sexy.com" a good LLLL.com?

Other extensions at least a few taken > irrelevant
Other extensions at least a few have genuine websites and not just parked > irrelevant
Good Estibot appraisal > useless

Domain gets traffic and produces revenue > very relevant, regardless to the letters that make up the domain

imo...
