What investment or activity is domaining most similar to? Real estate, stock market, poker, etc?

What similarities do you see between domaining and investing in real estate or stocks, or playing poker? I think there are a lot of concepts that I think are the same.

Between domaining and poker:
-bankroll management
-variance
-estimating expected value when buying a domain, +EV / -EV decisions
-extracting value out of a domain / hand

I think both have an element of art and science.

I also find myself often evaluating a name's highest and best use, liquidity, and often a mix of the two together when buying and pricing for sale.

I play poker professionally and i see some things that are similar. You forgot the need for volume to decrease variance. And the element of luck is present when you pick something that could become the next big thing i guess
