.tv What can you put on dot tv?

i have hull.tv if i put clips say from hullcity football team can they close my site down for copyright.maybe you can only put your own content on.

i am thinking of closing my site and others becouse of this.
i have a sign above my shop see at http://www.wifedownloads.com/at_work.html and people who have been in my shop said no way can you do this ?

No way you can do what? Design a .TV site with trademarks?
Create a .TV site for swinging?

No offense, but what are you asking or are you just advertising your site?

Trademark and copyright laws apply to .TV just as they do for any other type of domain.

The safest way to operate is always to use only content that you own or have license too. Will you be sued for using copyright infringing clips from YouTube? Probably not.

I also don't understand what you're asking in regards to the sign above your shop. LocalHistory.tv doesn't even have content on it.

I assume that what you are asking is if you can put a professional sports teams clips on your site? If so, the answer is likely no. The broadcast networks typically own the rights to the broadcast of the games.

Now, if you were to have taken the footage yourself with your own camera, then yes you can do that.

If it is say a local schools sports teams footage, that might be different since it isn't franchised. But again, you would only want to use footage that is shot by yourself or someone you know that allows it.

Or, as has been said, put on youtube.

With Hull.tv, my goodness, lots of opportunites for unique content. As I recall, you had a large city named Hull. So, how about one section where you interview unique stores/merchants, and let them talk about their history, etc. Since you have a dockyard, how about interviewing a boat manufacturer? Another section might feature walking tours of the town, or famous nearby landmarks. Any touristy type of sites, such as parks, etc., could make for a good video, plus you pick up affiliate marketing opportunities for selling hotel reservations, plane tickets, etc., via www.cj.com or www.linkshare.com or www.shareasale.com ...... Then you can create a forum for general discussions, with match.com related ads for generating income. After the site is established, you can approach other merchants for a pay for inclusion interview, or chamber of commerce entities for pay to be included links, etc.

Focussing on sports is difficult, imo, because at some point you are going to come up against a netowrk that really, really does not want you to use their videos.
