Hi, today i found lots of quality keyword domains with "_"

eg: loss-weight.net (This was available to hand reg few days ago)

They have good google search result
Good overture

But do they have any value?

I never really liked domain names with dashes, but I am going to start looking at them.

I just looked on Sedo, and noticed a parked name with a dash is ending in a couple of hours, and has hit low $x,xxx with 34 current bids!!!

That's pretty amazing for a parked page with a dash (imho)

10k exact search worths to buy but it still depends on price. If that's a hand reg, it would be very lucky.

You should also make sure that whatever you register is in the common english vernacular if you're registering .com.

Your example "loss-weight" doesn't make sense with commonly used english language. So, that would not be a good name to register, whereas "weight-loss" would.

Also, just like owntype mentioned... when registering hyphenated domains, you will need to find keywords that are highly searched for. While 10,000 exact searches per month may be acceptable results for some non-hyphenated keyword domains, you will have a better chance of selling a hyphenated domain if it has much more, IMO.

Estibot provides a monthly search number -- is that what you mean?

10,000 seems low to me (imho). Maybe 10,000 for a .com and much higher for other extensions (if other extensions are even worth it considering the dash involved)???

Will domain extention will be a problem, because hard to find .com domains
but prety easy to find .net

This depends on the term and extension. Keyword domains separated by one well placed hyphen have good value development wise, and to end users.

Examples -

Electric-Scooters.com
Home-Security.com
Diamond-Rings.com

When you move down extensions the term even needs to be that much better to have great value.

The search volume does not matter as much as the niche. If there is a Mortgage term with 60K searches that pays $30/click, it is going to be worth more than a term with 200K searches that pays $0.75/click.

Loss Weight has 12,100 Exact Searches a month (If I'm looking at the right number).. That seems rather high to me for something that doesn't even make sense

I have sold to end users that actually prefer hyphens, especially with longer terms or double letters. Sometimes it just looks better, and where type in traffic is not an issue the potential traffic loss is not much of an issue either.
