My hobby is writing western fiction. So, I was wandering about the internet, and, after trying unsuccessfully to register anything related to Wyatt Earp and the OK Corral, I searched for his brother, Virgil, whom I always thought was a powerful character. Interestingly, his name was not regged, so I am now the proud owner of VirgilEarp.com. But, what I really enjoyed was going to wikipedia, and reading the page they have on him.....

I never realized that, out of the Wyatt brothers, he was so much more experienced from the Civil War as well as from working in law enforcement - much more so than Wyatt Earp. Interesting! ( At least to me )

Thank you! One site I visited suggested that Wyatt had only been a lawman for 5 years or so of his life, which I will have to look into, as that really diverges from the view the public in general is given of him. Whereas Virgil was in the Civil War for years and spent a fair portion of the rest of his life as a lawman, and was the Marshal of Tombstone when the fight broke out at the OK Corral. Just kind of interesting. So much so, that I just ordered a book from Amazon about Virgil Earp, and can't wait for it to get here!

Yea... because it is essentially useless to resellers. I believe the only thing you could do with it would be develop it.

Yes not enough traffic for resellers, unless someone makes a movie out of his life.

It would make for an interesting movie, actually. He had only been married two weeks when he went off to the Civil War - and his inlaws did not approve of him. Word came back incorrectly that he had been killed, and his wife and inlaws moved west, where his wife remarried. Virgil did not know it until 37 years later when they found eachother, but his wife got pregnant with his child right before he left for war. He ended up married to a couple other women during his life, thinking that she was dead, apparently.

I need to read more about him, to sort out the legend and fact.
