I found a really great name to register, but put it off for one day because I have a bad habit of impulse registering. I went to register it the next day and it was gone! I always figure 'things happen for a reason' so I didn't really care. I kept remembering it though, and tonight, I figured I would contact the owner and see if they would sell it. I did a quick search for the name on the forums and google, and found the name had JUST SOLD MINUTES EARLIER on eBay for about what I was going to offer.

I'm not too sure about contacting the new owner now. I figure it could go one of two ways: they could feel bad for spending that much money on a name that really doesn't have any value without development, or they could get greedy with the fact that someone already wants to buy the name they bought, and try to get more money out of me. So I think I'm just going to pass, rather than spend too much on it. I would be too motivated to get the name just on principle.

So, if you're having a bad night, I feel your pain.

BTW, what name was it :?

Part of me still wants to at least shoot an email to the new owner and see if I get lucky (can't hurt, right?) so once they get back to me, I'll post the name. I wouldn't want the owner to be a NP member and realize how desperate I am. :)

Same thing happened to me atleast 10 times. Still it is not getting through my head.

Also probs in renewals. I keep on avoiding it till the last 1 day warning. And when I go in to renew it. It's gone.

Last time I was lucky to grab my own domain name back without any hitch. But I also learnt a lesson and paid $40 for my own domain name which I could have renewed with $7 just an hour earlier.
