My client has been getting charged $17 a month for a domain that has not be used for anything other then just parked!

aplus.net charges customers for parked domains!!!!! can you believe this $HIT

I'm in the process of having her move everything to godaddy.

APLUS.net you should be ashamed of yourself!

and they charge $10 a month for hosting 10 domains! and she also gets charged for having emails

a total of $60+ a month just to have email and hosting, and parking her undeveloped domain!

DO NOT USE APLUS.NET unless you want to waste money

godaddy offers everything above for $6.49 a month!

Aplus and VelCom (hosting) are some of the worst companies i've used before.

Aplus.net was great for me. I had a dedicated server with them for a year or two...no problems.

I keep my domains at registrars, not hosts...that's your problem.

And by the way, GoDaddy sucks. Help your client and move her to NameCheap or DomainSite please. -_-

I never really had any issues with Aplus.net either. They are a good sized company. I had a dedicated server with them a while back as well. And if you ever need sales assistance, MY GOODNESS they have sales reps EVERYWHERE on their site that can help you. I agree some of the sales reps are idiots, but they also have some really nice sales reps that are very helpful. They have a toll free number you can call for support and everything. I never register domains with them and probably never would. But in regards to hosting, I think they are pretty fair and offer decent service. They just recently redesigned their site and it looks much nicer in my opinion. Also with the new design, the live chat sales reps don't seem to bug you as much with their chat invites.

All I can say is that they spam your cell phone :)

They spam your cell phone? I never heard of that one. Not to mention anyone who gives their cell phone number out to businesses is a fool. That is just asking for telemarking calls lol. But it does seem awkward for them to spam your cell phone. Maybe there was fine print or a check box saying that if you check here, they would keep you posted about new promotions.

Also, if you are in the United States... Signup for the national do not call registry. https://donotcall.gov/ :)

I've never done any business with them but a few months back they were repeatedly calling a phone number that is only used in whois (but it was forwarded to my cellphone). That means they used the whois for their marketing efforts, which is clearly against the rules, in particular when you are an ICANN registrar :|

I has no aplus issues, aside from them entering my dedicated server without permission many times. Now I just use Godaddy dedicated, have had no problems.

I've read several complaints about Aplus's services years ago at Webhostingtalk.

I have used Aplus and one of my clients does currently. They access our servers without permission, so I just change the root password. THat did the trick, as far as hardware and such, we never had downtime.

Godaddy dedicated is good. IF you know what you are doing., A dedicated server is for people that know how to use them. I have a couple godaddy servers and my uptime today shows 300 days.

There are some better companies out there that provide great management, godaddy should really stick to domains - even then, they aren't great at that. Go Namecheap!

Why would I do that, I have never had downtime and the price is right on my server after using promo codes. I don't typiccally follow advise like this unless warranted. 300 days running without issues is good.
