Have your heard about this thief?

Hey guy and gals, my partner is having a problem with a charge being made to her credit card for a hosting service she never signed up, in fact she has no clue if exists, but the "company" is charging her $10 every 20 days or so since last April.

the charge on her receipts appear as "Hosting Services Grotel"

Anyone has heard about it?

contact the credit card company and tell them that they are fraudulent transactions. They will be able to refund the money for you.

My Aunt's Credit Card had over $600 spent on Web Designs, vBulletin License's, Hosting, Dedicated Servers, she contacted the CC company and got refunds and also had her card deactivated.

Idenity Theft has been happening like crazy lately.

Yes that is correct it is in fact a chargeback and not a refund but this is a very legitimate reason to carry 1 out. Especially since the person has no idea who they are so are unable to request a refund the normal way.

ow. I hadnt got a Credit card yet and dont know how it really works, Only thing i know is to buy stuff online, other than that no. But i heard it doesnt give refunds.

You are more protected with a credit card than a debit card ThaiN. with debit cards once the money is taken that is it you have lost it. But with a credit card if a charge has been made that should not have been (and if you have exhausted normal avenues of getting the funds back) you can carry out a chargeback, the money is deposited back into the card and the credit card company retrieves the money back from the company who received it. Chargebacks should only be done as a last resort.

Yeah, and you should use escrow for big payments like domain names :D
