Well, first off I would like to say I am sold on the .mobi concept. I have about 150 of them and growing and trying to get 5 .mobi sites up and going to start. What blew me away today was that I was talking to my best friend who happens to be a VP at a very large "digital marketing agency" and he was unaware of .mobi, although he said he umm heard of it. I have read other threads of how big companies are getting on board and so they should. Also read about thoughts on emailing companies and telling them about how great ,mobi is/will be. My thought is to sell the seller.

How do we do that?

Maybe start a thread where we post all the articles we find on "how great and useful .mobi's are and will be" and we can send the list to creative directors and such who will tell their companies/clients "YOU need this to stay cutting edge or even to just keep up". I talked to him for about 45 min (Canada to SanFran on a cell phone, that's going to cost) about how he should be singing the praises of .mobi to everyone of his clients and how he's doing a disservice to them by not telling them about it.

He got pretty excited about his new information and wanted me to send him some links of posts here, which is what I was doing when I thought of this post. His past/present portfolio is huge and people seek him out and LISTEN to him, so if it was that easy to sway/teach him, this should be very easy to get a lot more SELLERS in the "know". By sellers I mean advertising/web design firms that are telling businesses what they need to have a dominate web presence-and they are paying big bucks for this info so they ARE listening.

Part of his portfolio as follows:
Activision
Aeroplan
Ask.com
Atlantic Records
Ebay
EA
EA Sports
Heineken International
Hollywood Video
Hurley International
InBev (InterBrew)
Kenwood USA
Microsoft
Miller
Nintendo of Americe
Nintendo of Europe
Nintendo GameCube America
Nintendo GameCube Europe
Nintendo DS
Nike by Mail
Nike Philips
Spa Finder
Showtime/Viacom (extranet)
Sony
Starz & Encore TV
Toyota/Lexus
Western Digital
Bell Globalmedia
Cox Communications
Elektra Records
Heineken Beacon
Intuit QuickTax Web
Jet Blue
MSN Game Zone
Stella Artio
World Vision

The above was just to show you that someone who has worked/consulted on all the above websites and who SHOULD know about .mobi but doesn't. But at the same time was sold in less then an hour on the phone and now going forward will TELL businesses that they need .mobi to have a full web presence.

Also he has jumped around a lot BC/Toronto/Germany/NY/Sanfran and is always talking to past associates/friends at past companies and I know he will be telling them as well, so this is a win-win for mobi. Now I am not patting myself on the back for converting 1 person but letting everyone know how easy it was (I believe mobi will sell itself-just getting the info out is the important thing), and how one key person can influence a lot of people

Tell me your thoughts and please subscribe to this thread so anytime you have any good .mobi articles etc you can post them here so we can send this post to people that need to know.

Thanks for listening and I look forward to your comments, Gary.

Gary, good thoughts!

The news will spread after next Wednesday!!!

I predict that the 15 mobi domains in the Live auction will probably do a total amount of almost $ 1.000.000. If so, we will hear and see a lot more in the news about dotmobi. I have a Google Alert on “dotmobi” and “.mobi” and the last days I get many new news articles about the next auction from these Google Alerts. If the 15 domains will achieve 1 million the news will spread…

BTW: I am working on a dotmobi website (dotcom & dotmobi version) to spread the dotmobi facts.
