Do Sedo visitors (not all domainers) click on 'More' more than 50% of the time?

As most of us know, most non-dot-coms are not allowed on Sedo's front page (even if the bidding in the final hours were to reach very high values).

What I don't know is this: will an exception be made for the MTLD portfolio this week?

The question of course assumes that the 100 MTLD .mobies will be left to rub shoulders with the rest of 'Closing Soon' domains on that vital page where the price-discovery magic of the free market is supposed to happen, but which only a small percentage of home page visitors probably ever click on (the one accessible via the third "More" button on the right).

Clearly all 100 won't make it to the front page, since they appear to be scheduled to end at exactly the same time (Oct/03/07 12:07 PM EST), which is why I am asking if the average (weekly) Sedo visitor at 12 PM would ever know they were minutes away from bagging any premium .mobi at extremely low prices. :'(

It would be impractical and possibly confusing to list all the permutations in terms of voting options, so please feel free to expand on your predictions (and perhaps offer relevant recommendations for Sedo and MTLD) below.

Probably with all of the promotion they are putting into it... it's their site therefore they can change the rules. We'll see, but i'm willing to bet they will at least allow the most active .mobis to be displayed in the "Auction Listings" section. But no matter what, you will have to click "more" to see them all. (Most people visiting a domain site should know to do this.)

i agree, or they could have a special .mobi running acutions section?

Namewaiter, that's clearly an excellent idea - especially if mere mortals like us are allowed to have domains closing there.

Yet with about 17 hours to go, what would you say is the probability of that happening?

Imho.

Slim probability, IMHO ... though I agree it's an excellent idea! :gl: :imho:

Specifically, what has Sedo done thus far to promote these premium .MOBI's ... including to End user / developers IYHO's? Did I see that they emailed some folks with prior interest in .MOBI's? Am I missing something currently on the Sedo home page about this particular week-long event?
Thanks for the post / poll, as well.

Sedo are a bunch of baffoons! IMHO they are so stupid they most probably won't put them on the home page, and they will most probably leave the .mobi search selection down in the maze of CCTLDs when obviously for any normal sane person .mobi is a TLD!

But then again Sedo are a money grabbing bunch of idiots so maybe they will do something special like a home page feature to fatten their wallets yet drop it totally afterwards as they have made their money!!

Sorry for the rant but i think everyone will agree pretty much to 75% of it!!!

Oh dear!

And I was wondering why I get most of my sales enquiries directly, even though all of my NNN.mobies are listed on Sedo (and I must admit they are only listed there - OK, and on NamePros in the last few days - but how stupid do I feel now)!

They know about this problem as many many mobi domainers have emailled Sedo to attempt to correct this yet all they will do is fob you off by saying the design team are looking at it! They ain't I assure you! They are sitting down eating donuts and msn messaging their other halfs!!! Why do you think sales take so long etc??? LOL!

Just sent this to Sedo's marketing bod!!! Lets see if any action is taken this time or not! My next port of call will be MTLD to inform them of the cluster f**k that Sedo is!

Hello Kate,

as a domainer and mobile website developer i'd just like to voice my disgust to those at Sedo for a moment!

I think it's very cheeky and ignorant that you take the commission money for auctioning the premium mobi domains and yet:

1. You do not dare list any mobi's in the homepage closing soon section of the auction operation, only .com's or other TLD's occasionally!

2. That the mobi in the domain search page (I will provide a link below!) Lists the mobi in and amongst the CCTLD's with are in their hundreds!!! When mobi IS A TLD itself!! So therefore should be listed up around where the .com and nets are etc! The exact location is the drop down box with the word EXTENSION above it! You will probably find you will sell more mobi's by placing the TLD in the correct area!!!

http://sedo.com/search/searchresult.php4?showcase=1&tracked=&partnerid=&language=e

I have and i know of a good few more people who have complained about these worries before yet we are always fobbed off with some excuse! If i can find an email for proof i will send it your way but i most probably deleted it in disgust!

Sedo really need to pull their socks up in all departments and soon! Competition is starting to get fierce and because of a serious lack of attention to detail, enthusiasm and competency your company WILL fall behind and be forgotten about! In this day and age it doesn't take 3 or 4 weeks to transfer a domain name, and if someone is off for their holidays you get a replacement who has always had a full handover!!!!

If you require any further explanation of any section of this letter please be my guest and i will expand.

First two hours' tally (including bids where reserves haven't been met): $US 37,731.

7 days = 168 hours = US$ 3,169,404 final tally on current form, right?

Wrong, of course.

The first and last few hours were always supposed to be very different from the mid-point average.

In this case I'm not sure we can count too much on the last few hours, so we'd better not slow down too fast here!

If you need an update on the current total and the projected final tally, just post here (as opposed to PM-ing me) and I should be able to respond pretty quickly.

Good early analysis, Mr. MC ... of course, THE most important thing is ultimately getting these premiums developed and added into the developed "ecosystem" in the very near-term, IMHO. :yell:

That being said, and while the Sedo auctions are concurrent ... keeping an eye on the bids at and above the respective "Reserve Prices" to hopefully speculate on the future owner and then their hopeful respective development plans! :gl: :talk:

I wonder what the tally is - VERY EARLY, I understand ... not including bids where those Reserves haven't been met? IYHO's. Also, I wonder about the bidders ... realistically, do you think any actual End users / developers are or will be bidding in these? :|
Good stuff, thanks again.

If they are not now then they will be after winning the auction. Anyone feel free to PM me for a link to more info from mTLD about how they evaluate the finished sites.

Wait a minute, what is this strange thing?

Has anyone else noticed an anomaly in the list of names expiring all at the same time on Oct 3rd (I guess I should stop calling them the MTLD 100 at this point)?
