With less than 20 hours to go (in terms of the scheduled end of the MTLD 100 auctions at Sedo, which will almost certainly be followed by extra time), the following are the top .mobi domains that have exceeded their reserve prices and are thus guaranteed to sell (shown in decreasing order of amount currently bid):

loans.mobi
insurance.mobi
download.mobi
books.mobi
free.mobi
colleges.mobi
domain.mobi
chat.mobi
bank.mobi
book.mobi
webcam.mobi

Do you think one of these domains will be the top sale tomorrow, and if so which one?

can't pass up this once in a lifetime chance to win nothing.

hosting.mobi is the best name for mobiles and theoretically should go for the highest amount.

...

I'm actually considering doubling the prize money for early entries.

I second Loans.mobi too.

Loans.mobi, not really sure why though. I can think of other names on aution that I'd rather own. Personally, I like traffic.mobi the best. I just think its a good fit for mobile. Just my two cents :)

loans.mobi for many reasons, but one being the high PPC value of the keyword.

I don't normally like typos, but I just reg'd "wwwfree.mobi" for a lotto ticket. wwwbook and wwwdomain are still available if anyone wants them.

I've had wwwinsurance.mobi for a while now. Just little "lotto tickets" if and when .mobi becomes widespread.

wwwfree.com has no wt score. You think .mobi will be better?
Even wwwsex.com only has 12 wt score.

I'm sure I am missing something here. Can you explain the potential in these type of registrations?

Not only that, but "www" isn't used with .mobi sites. They're not supposed to be, anyways.

I just answered a PM about this. As I said, they are lotto tickets. People are in the habit of typing "www", and I see no difference on mobiles if and when typing becomes easier. They may have value or not later, I'm not saying they will. Just putting it out there if anyone wants them.

P.S. - Wordtracker means nothing on these typos, they are browser typos.

Even if MTLD's public education process on that point is twice as successful as the general .mobi education process to date, it's likely to take a rather long time for the public to stop typing www in front of things :)

You would be suprised at the number of people who type website urls in the search bar instead of the browser bar. If many people were typing wwwfree.com in their browser bar, some would be typing it in the search bar. Therefore, wordtracker would show something.

Ok, reg them or not. But I would not be surprised if the ones I mentioned are gone within the week. I just don't want to reg them because I don't want any more renewal fees, I have over 300 .mobi's!!! I reg'd wwwfree.mobi for 2 years, maybe one of those "drunk re'gs", I don't know. I feel a little drunk tonite because I started the Nicoderm patch, maybe clouding my judgement who knows! :yell: :'( :hehe: :$: :alien:

Would be funny to revisit this thread in a couple years to find that I have sold it for XXXX!

I used the patch a few years ago. It really works as long as you dicipline yourself. Good luck! :)

Thanks, I've used it before too but never followed through. This time I have to though because my body is telling me that I need to quit, or I won't see the day when .mobi is a household name! (to stay on topic!!)

If Jeff was around he might have inquired how good your general health was and/or how long you intend to live :)

It's not the same without him, is it?

General health = +/- reg fee, ++NP $
Long life = $50 +/- reg fee.

OK, now that sounds like an actuarial equation. So we're back on topic! Insurance PPC rates of course are not much worse than those fo loans, and the generic term doesn't have a singular/plural issue like loan/loans.

It's a pity it's such a long word, but if this were an odds-based contest I would definitely consider it.
