Hi there, long time no see =).

I just got offered 300USD for this at Sedo, whats your opinion, should I accept or counter?. Im considering putting it on auction, but then again I also want to hold on to it as I think it may gain value in the end.

Please be honest and to the point :).

Thanks for reading

Cheers,
Andree

unless it has some great abbreviation meaning, I would advise to accept 300$

Unless it means "waffle" in German, I can't see any meaning to it - I would accept the offer.

Good luck with it

Counter-offer with $500 and sell for $400 (or so). If it is meant to be a sale then so shall it be :imho:

Its a good offer for the domain in the current market. I'd personally sell.

Always counter at least 2x of offer.

Person can always come back with the same offer... I'd sell.

Good Luck

It doesn't mean anything that I can see, sell it asap.

I would put the name up for auction at Sedo and see if you get a higher offer. If not it will sell for the $300 bid which to me is very reasonable. You can place a name on auction at Sedo after you get an offer.

I am sure its an end user who offered you that amount for the name,so you must try for more IMO

Good Luck

I too think it must be some kind of end user, though I found nothing with these acronyms.

Do not put it on auction, as domainers will not offer more for it.

Once I countered back to an end user and never heard about him. But you could also get more for this if the buyer is very motivated.

Try to track down the offer. Who they are? Do a great reseach.

As regards the name I would sell it in the current market.

hm,
acronyms for FL : football league, florida, flowers, flavor, fishing league, fashion lane
acronyms for VO : voice over, vegan outreach ( vegan outreach florida.com ), vehicle operations, virtual office, volume

There are many more combinations.

I am thinking since you got the 300 offer, this is an end user who has an acronym/abbreviation in mind, and wants that name.

If you are a risk taker, counter offer with 600 and see how it goes. As someone said earlier, going to auction won't do you much good, since this is not a regular VCVC or CVCV .com, domainers won't take the bait.

If you need the money, take the 300, if not counter offer with 600... in any case, this domain is not worth more to a reseller.

Cheers

Thanks for all your replies, appreciated!. :).

I did actually put it up for auction, perhaps a mistake, unless im lucky that is.

Guess I could have countered, but then again I may have lost the sale, and besides, it dident cost me more than regfee, im happy either way.

But I do think that if I did hold on to it for a few years more it would increase in value, dont know if others have the same opinion, but I dont find it that bad.

Thanks again, lets see how it goes :).

Cheers,
Andree

Imagine my feeling when I initially saw this thread almost immediately after it was posted - I was the guy that placed the bid!

The reason : thereโ€™s a good chance I am going to rebrand a new football game I should have finished in a month or so with the domain.

VOFL.com = Virtual Online Football League

So consider me an extremely pleased end user.

Would I have spent more? Not much if any - Iโ€™ve already spent money branding the current name (DeepRoute.com). So you didnโ€™t miss out on anything there, as I had to weight the cost of rebranding with the cost I could spend on the domain.

So everyone is happy in the end. :)

I'd definitely sell. Of course counter-offer to try to get more, but 300 is a great offer for that name
