I just got a new Vista OS computer to work with. I have to admit, it is a bit more snazzy.

So, now, to re-learn stuff.

I want to do some ASP.NET development. So, how do I set up an IIS with this?

Also, I have found that I cannot use FTP like I used to. In the earlier versions of the OS and maybe earlier versions of Windows Explorer, I could just type the address of the FTP site, and it would prompt me for the username and password. I do not have such luck with VISTA. Could it be some sort of firewall setting? If so, how do I check that? I tried some FTP software programs, and they seem to fail as well.

I'd use a real FTP client like FileZilla if I were you. You probably have a firewall problem and/or a PASV/PORT confusion happening.

FTP is such a dated protocol anyway, why not use something more modern? Like WebDAV?
