Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

NextVR raises $80 million to take live VR worldwide

"With this new funding, we will continue to build NextVR's virtual reality platform to meet the needs of the world's largest fan bases around live sports and music content," NextVR Executive Chairman Brad Allen said in a statement. "Having the support of Asia's biggest players provides us with significant resources for creating and distributing both local and international content in China, Korea, and Japan."

Founded in 2009, NextVR has broadcast live VR for sports such as the U.S. Open and Masters Tournament, the Kentucky Derby, the Daytona 500, and the International Champions Cup; concerts, including Coldplay; and other events such as the presidential debates. The company has inked deals with Live Nation and Fox Sports.

"We trust in the future of live experiences in VR, and NextVR has proven it is the company that will deliver on that promise," said CITIC Guoan President Sun Lu.

โ€œWe are making an investment in NextVR because we believe the company's global platform for live VR will win the hearts and minds of users everywhere.โ€

San Francisco early-stage fund Spectrum 28 also joined the round, along with Series A investors Formation Group, Time Warner Investments, Comcast Ventures, Stephen Ross's RSE Ventures, Mandalay Entertainment CEO Peter Guber, The Madison Square Garden Co. and dick clark productions.

"NextVR continues to revolutionize how live virtual reality content will be created and delivered," added Scott Levine, managing director of Time Warner Investments and a NextVR board observer. "Consumers are excited about the technology, and NextVR's platform is clearly the leader in this emerging space."

NextVR has raised $110.5 million to date.

VRunderground is available through godaddy expired close outs if anyone is interested. I had it on my watch list but decided against it. It would make a cool name for a VR forum if anyone is considering that route.

I've got no experience in VR names. I have brokered the sale of an augmented reality name for mid 5 figures but aside from that I have little experience in these trends

I would assume that these pros are not so much deep and soon enough in the VR as the best of us ( not me ,-) ) here ( FX ! ) , but anyway it would be nice to hear their views and ideas on VR topic as you suggested.
I have seen Page Howe name on some VRPoker names, so some of them are aware for sure !

There are different kinds of pros. There are a few already in this thread and then there are also the kind of pros that broker and sell millions in sales per year. I wouldn't be surprised that most of the few that are flipping $500k + per year are the kind of the pros that are probably waiting till it's confirmed that an industry has hit mainstream, or near mainstream with an almost guaranteed ROI.

They can afford to put down $10,000 to even $50,000 for a domain that many of us would be happy to sell at that price, and then flip it for 10x that amount. They're not in the game for risky speculation, like most of us. They're in the game for domains in industries with proven numbers.....

Prototype VR Robot Fighter
http://www.roadtovr.com/this-awesome-motion-controlled-vr-robot-fighter-needs-to-be-released/

Kind of a virtual battle bot warfare. I do have some names to fit it.

The skill is predicting the name that will be popularly used, or at least staying on top of the latest vr news, discussion, every single day, so that you can be right on the button and first to register at the moment when the term is being coined. There are a few obvious applications for VR that are certain to be massively popular - such as virtual bot warfare, or as we mentioned the other day gender swapping etc. But at this stage, it's almost impossible to predict how these activities will become commonly described.

And you can also try to define the term yourself. For example, I'm promoting the term 'vroleplay' and try to use it online as much as I can because I own the domain, and I think it's a natural hack that stands a good chance of being taken up into popular usage. Maybe we should all agree to help each other by promoting such terms in vr discussion and other forums etc?

I agree. Just thinking aswell, there isn't really a weaker variant between VRLive or LiveVR, but as a personal preference if someone gave me the choice between the 2, i would choose VRLive, it sounds like 'we are live' and just the perfect name to go with 'live'.
