Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Vroom is used car start up. It's not VRoom, it's Vroom, that should be a great sign.

The CMO Gaurav Misra, basically said VR showrooms were an experiment.

Vroomโ€™s virtual reality projects account for a โ€œsingle digit percentageโ€ of the companyโ€™s overall spending. The company doesnโ€™t want to overestimate the VR market and end up wasting too much money on failed initiatives, Mirsa explained.

Don't get me wrong, I want to believe it's a VR sale too but it's simply not the case.

It's not Vroom or VRoom, it's vroom (according to their logo). And even if it was Vroom, that can be 'virtual room' (cant' remember if virtual+keyword domains have their own subforum). According to their own write up below the heading of their site they are special because they are displacing the conventional showroom. I find it difficult to believe that they didn't have an eye on the potential double meaning (or triple meaning). Then again, even if they did, it's admittedly not entirely a VR sale.

It's Vroom according to several places on their site and according to several of the testimonials also displayed on their site. Yes their logo is different, but I'm going by what they address themselves the most and what the media is addressing them as.

VRoom - is Virtual Room to you and me, but to them when they bought it, I highly suspect it for the car a sound makes.

Yes they have created a VR Showroom, but if you read my earlier post where I quoted their CMO, they are not involved in VR much.

Which company buys a VR name for their startup when they are saying this?

They are not evening calling their showroom The VRoom.

They are calling it:

The Vroom VR Showroom

If the "Vr" in Vroom stood for VR why they have VR twice in the title of their showroom.

The VRoom VR Showroom doesn't look right to me.

What does "Why We Vroom" mean in the above picture I posted. To them it means that sound an engine makes when it goes Vroooooom Vrooooom.

Yes they have created a VR Showroom, but if you read my earlier post where I quoted their CMO, they are not even deeply involved in VR.

None of your points make much sense to me tbh. All I will say is that perhaps somebody who appears pedantic in terms of strictly delineating terms such as 'vr' 'holo' '360' 'ar' etc. might have difficulty appreciating the value of brand names that can have multiple relevant meanings and wordplays that most consumers would immediately understand.

It seems you're still quite bitter about the whole no 'holo' in the VR thread, so you decided to start an argument for no reason. That's no good man, you were actually starting to become a decent guy. I actually thought we had put this shit between us behind us.

No one wants to read our bickering, can we agree to both man up and drop it here?

I'm more puzzled by the fact that vroom.com sold for $75.000. I mean, how do you even sell this domain for that high? I'm serious.. do you counter every lowball offer to +$100.000 until eventually you hit the jackpot? I can't even

I felt a bit sick watching this, had my dinner about an hour ago.

No idea what he's really feeling in VR. :lookaround:

I'm literally puzzled why everyone is having such a difficult time understanding "Vroom" and it's associated sale.

Maybe it is a United States thing, but almost everyone here knows that a car goes "Vroom". If you were to ask a child in the U.S. what sound a car would make, they would reply with "Vroom".

Taken directly from Vroom.com ; "Vroom: Buy, Sell or Trade-In Used Vehicles Online". And holy crap.... they deliver the car to YOU wit free delivery! It's like Amazon for cars.

It is not a VR sale, but a brandable sale that commanded an appropriate price tag.

We've all seen worse domains do better than $75k; MetaTrader sold for $100k :xf.rolleyes:

Also...

vRoom = Virtual Room
Vroom/vroom = Car Sound

Have you seen the Vroom commercial!!! John Leguizamo, Rachel Dratch..

I saw in prior post about domains like this style i regged below may not be too popular with some domainers but I figure if the word being branded is used properly as in vr niche maybe this 1 will catch on and sell. I can see this 1 as a vr promo, app or game for example\;

REVRLUTION.Com

Yes, I understand that but as long as I like them I don't really bother.
I don't do it for money, just a fun thing. And if Flavvr sold for 2.5K, I add maybe Flovvr. I don't care about 0,01 BTC but I love the imput and I would rather have negative feedback on my buys than nothing! :)

Anything can happen with brandables, this is a handy short name, whether Vr or not

You just set the bar high and remain adamant you won't let the domain go unless you get the amount you want, If a company really wants the name, then they will pay it.
