Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The VR craze hasn't started...what we're seeing is the quiet before the storm. Patience is the key now. Patience for a good 6 months. Wait till the kiddies want VR headsets for Christmas....

:alien2:

I don't think we will see the VRdomain storm beginning till the xmas season of 2016 and beyond. More likely 2017 for domains anyway. There are 5 major players yet to release the first high end HMD's and I'm sure a few more will follow shortly after.

Of course that is my opinion and here is why I say that...

There is a lot of hardware/software developers that have yet to see proven "results of acceptance" for the tech. Also, there are a lot of potential law suits with it.

Not but a few would deny that it is truly the NEXT GREAT THING but will it be adopted widely by consumers is a story "they" wish to see. In short they want to see potential costumers before investment. You and I may know that those early in the game will have a giant advantage going forward. But not everyone needs a leap-up on things.

It also can be said that there are many working on things you have not herd of yet.

These things do not happen overnight but I will say this is the fastest broadest initial acceptance I have ever seen. Mostly because it has had a few years to churn and create a anticipation for it.

We shall see if there is enough content next year to keep everyone happy.
I certainly will be watching pre-order sales of the vive and rift.

I have a few developments of my own I "may" push out the door sooner rather than later.

Never say never...besides, it was a joke!
A little humor was needed in the wake of all the whining on here lately.

My latest round at multipurpose, geo / brandable:

zhongguoVR
nipponVR
VRnippon

Zhongguo means China or Chinese
Nippon means Japan

After reading about China and Japan being among the largest consumers of VR & AR I registered these domains, they could be brandable, they could be tours or they can be nothing ... but I feel pretty good about these.

And naturally I got the AR versions of these too.

Historically there's been about a 25 year lead time for a new major technology to start taking hold in the marketplace after it's started being developed into product - that's what I recall from a Peter Drucker book. That timeline is about right for VR?

What do you think about ?
Juegos-Virtuales DOT com

I've got that without the hyphen.

Technology acceleration increases exponentially over time.

Anyone scored any recent VR sales or offers?
Always encouraging to see reported sales or offers in the VR niche ...

I have a $10k inbound offer on a name that I got pretty quickly, but I will not sell at the moment.

If you want a good sale, you have to do the legwork. Outbound lead generation, messaging startups, and finding the right buyer. Most of my sales in general are outbound, sometimes they won't pay any more than $xxx, sometimes they will be okay with high $x,xxx or 5 figures.

Just sitting and waiting is not ideal unless you are financially prepared to do so.

LOL, I have had such a hard time trying to convince folks that you can not sit on your hands and wait for people to buy. Because someone else is going to sell a name to the needy.

If you are in the biz to sell names... then SELL NAMES. If you are going to just let folks buy, you will loose out to the sellers.

But hey, less competition is good for me & you!

You do have to hustle up and at bare minimum contact the people who have similar domains or would benefit from the domain . It's a hard sale right now because it's not mainstream enough but it's better then sitting and wishing.

Has anyone visited VRapp? They have an 'make an offer' statement of minimum $490k, considering the app market is huge I think that's a justifiable price for a VR application marketplace. What do you think?
