Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Can we please move on from the whole debate about revealing names, we get it....

I was guilty myself, I think I posted two names that were available to handreg I didn't do it to thanks whore but rather to give a little back to a thread that has helped me fine tune my criteria for regging. Neither of them were gems. But I can totally understand and respect where people are coming from with the grievances/issues raised.

Let's get back to what this thread does best, discussing VR domains.

About 10 of my VR domains ranging from skiing, Casino, Porn have all enjoyed a massive surge in traffic the last few days, interest is definitely building and hopefully some of it starts to convert to offers/sales very soon.

This is how the free market and freedom of speech work! If people wants to share information, with or without a personal agenda, i see nothing wrong with that.

A few people will be pissed that their "secret" is exposed, MANY people will be happy to have a chance to be in on where the action is.

As for the guy who revealed SEXVR.com, next time when you see such domain... keep it secret and looking for a trusted person whom you know has the power to acquire a name you have no money for and he is willing to share something with you if when sold.

Sometimes you have to think smart, you don't need money to make money from experience. If I had seen that name, trust me, this is what I would have done and no way I am gonna reveal it to the world which helped shoot the price to that amount. If you had kept it secret, I doubt it could have even gone beyond $2500.

These further prove that there are LOTS of silent readers who come on here to read stuffs.

if you look back in the thread the owner of VRporn [dot] com posted about SexVR, and then provided no other posts at all on NP.... so no motive to inflate the price there at all lol.

I havent checked my traffic today but definitely will. Godaddy parking traffic seems inaccurate to me so i dont put much faith in it. I'm glad to see the intrest rising in the category.

I know you said to move on, but I just have to say this. The issue was that people were posting expiring domain names, not unregistered names. There was NOTHING wrong with what you did.

May I ask what you guys consider as a 'surge in traffic'? Are you talking 50-100 uniques a day? I'm not getting traffic like that in my VR names. Granted I've only acquired them 1-3 days ago.

One got 55 hits yesterday alone, prior to this it got less than a half dozen each day. I discount any traffic originating from China/Russia as genuine traffic, I'm sure some of it might be, but I prefer to assume it's bot activity.

Are you filtering for referral spam?

In your analytics look at "source", if it is website-for-buttons, semalt, or other services that have to do with 'web services' then it's just referral spam that you will have to filter out of Google Analytics. It can account for as much as 50% of your reported traffic stats and it happens to everyone using Google Analytics.

When i see almost the same traffic everyday on the same domains this is a key factor for me the traffic is legit. I hate bot traffic...

Yup! Only 2 hits were referral spam. I'll have a better idea once I build out my site and forward each domain to their respective landing pages. ( Plug: 365.domains coming soon! :))

Check this out, it's a report I made on the subject:

An Out-of-Body VR Experience
http://vrscout.com/projects/an-out-of-body-vr-experience/

"The most interesting part of the experiment is around the 1:00 minute mark. Around this time, Zecke moves outside the range of the Oculus headset positional tracker and begins his out-of-body experience. The motion of the virtual camera that feeds visuals to the Oculus remains at his last position (while the rotation tracking is still working). While Zecke continues moving forward in real space, his VR point of view stays in place. He observes his own body walking away from himself."

At the mention of traffic and VR Domains,
Take a moment to think about this and you will understand.

I to see a uptick in traffic and price inquires for VR domains but it is the end of E3 and some are just reading the news of events from it. The traffic are domainers that are to slow to the game. Not end users.

It is why I have been close to the computer before, during and after e3... just for stats checking.

Generally I can say from my hosted sites, traffic has went up tremendously the past few months. A bit more than expected. Additional research showed 5% of the new traffic was spammers trying to inject to the database.
But just no where near traffic I would expect in nov-feb.(wishful thinking).
