Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I noticed "VRmovies" is being auctioned. It has 4 bids on Godaddy and the minimum I can bid is $50 000. Does that mean that those 4 bids were also for at least $50 000? Or is there a loophole I am missing?

By the way, I don't have $50 000. Just curious :D
Yeah i dont know maybe he upped the min and those 4 bids were from a lower intial offer price.

It's interesting to read this thread from the beginning.

Woe to those who have forgotten about their VR names registered last year.

I think this thread is long enough without us adding blank posts.

What drama did I miss?

@DomainVP - What if the owner of the expiring domains sees your signature/site and renews as a result?
I see you have ads on that page, is your objective is actually for monetary gain ?

UPDATE:

DomainVP has just messaged me saying -

"I'll just report your post for off topic, and you will get a warning. Have a good day."

Answer me this,

What if the owner see his signature/site and renews as a result?

You are both ignoring the issue at hand. Answer this question in bold.

... and that's what I did. If you want to be professional and not off-topic you can message me and we can have a lengthy debate about it. Otherwise, it's off topic.

Thank you for stopping by the list, I hope you catch a few good domains you might have missed.

Cheers :xf.smile:

Your logic is flawed. You fail to realise the main point at hand is the owner may not know the value of his VR domains until he sees your signature which states and I quote: "*ATTENTION*: Updated List Of The Best VR Names Expiring SOON [HERE] <-Click Here". He then thinks to himself, "...forget letting this domain expire and I'm going to renew this..." BANG! You just made your friends here at NP, and I'm sure you must have a few, lose out on a domain that they really wanted. I'm sure your pals here are loving you right now!

And as for off topic, I disagree....What's the name of this thread?....Virtual Reality Domains (VR)...we are talking about VR expiring domain names over at GD....how the hell is that off topic? It's not.

I can't stop anyone from posting anything....especially about GD auctions. I can only request and hopefully make you understand why I'm saying it.

If you still refuse, then I guess I'll give up as there is nothing I can do.

Your not helping us IMO, you're helping the original domain owners.

So again... they aren't going to realize the value of their domain from the 272 pages of posts here on NamePros ranked by Google that are constantly in the "New Replies" section everyone sees, nor will the see domain sales charts, nor will they see any VR news reports... but they mysteriously realize the value because of my signature?

Let's be realistic here... Im awesome, but not what they would call a 'tastemaker'.

I'm actually in on some of these domains, and more than willing to duke it out at auction. We all see them on the drop lists; there is no mystery here. If you have been getting VR names on 'the cheap' I would question those purchases, just as I would question the quality of handregs at this point in the game.

So let me see if I understand correctly how the Godaddy system works. If I let all of my domains expire then somebody can buy it, but I still have the option to renew it?

So in theory I could just let all my domains expire and renew the ones that people seem interested in?

Yes, but it would cost you $80 per domain, the last I saw. It is a strategy some domainers use for premium domains. If you think about it, how many spammers send you 'availability notices' when a similar domain is coming to market.

The owner has 7 days to renew the domain after the auction is over.

So you let your domain expire, the world of spammers notifies everyone that could or would be interested in hopes that an end user buys it with them, you renew it outside of auction, and now the winner (hopefully end user) wants to buy it and may be willing to pay what you are looking for.

Worst chase scenario, you've started the conversation.

Yes, people do this apparently.

You don't just post in one thread, do you? No, you post all of this forum, so isn't fair to assume, people who don't even look at this thread, could see any number of your 900 posts across this entire forum and therefore see your signature quite easily. The type of people who don't know the value of VR might not be up to speed with NameBio and Domain Sale Chart. Not everyone knows what you know.

Which domains you going for?

Again you have brought this back round to money. I'm about talking owners catching on and renewing.

'Cheap' is relative. I have bought the most expensive VR domain to date, which will be hitting DNJournal this week.

I helped put VR Sales on the map by purchasing this domain at this price. In turn increasing the value of everyone's portfolios.

There has been a lot of controversial talk about this domain that I acquired, but personally I think it's worth 20 times what I paid. I will not be selling for 5 years. I acquired...
