Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

been doing my research before I stop posting on this thread and someone is in for a big payday...........

someone on here own's these three top domains

VRGlasses.com
VRHeadset.com
VRGoggles.com

they were all updated on 19th July 2014......bit of a give away!

I do hope people on here make money from their registered domains, and some might, but when I mentioned being more into AR now it is only because there is nothing left for me to buy in VR that I see any value in.....and that is my personal opinion.

I know people will continue to post their VR registrations and they can have their private pm's having a go at me, seriously im past that.....

Good luck in this thread and I hope to see some more sales rather than pages of registrations!

Cheers

Stu

At the moment I think people are far too image conscious to ever wear any type of Terminator style AR device which is currently out there (or even in production) when they start managing to fit the tech in regular glasses it will be a massive step forwards - until then VR is helping to break the image barrier for wearable headsets.

from a more personal preference side putting domaingin aside, I am more looking forward to VR than AR.

when i get fed up with reality I want to escape it.. not augment it.

cheers and good luck to all.

Hard not to love escapism side of VR... Only downside is that in the long run humanity is f***ed for sure.

thanks...

it's all gonna be small money for vr handregs... but many people will not mind the $100-500 payouts for their fairly low quality doamins... think things like.. vrprofessor, vryoga .. and a whole bunch of other things that happened so far.. and that'll continue to happen

as long as its profit, aand people are enjoying it. I think it's not so bad.

good luck

yep. I fully agree.

12 months to do that goes fast but it's still way more than a week. so I call that a good amount of time.

and to extend that into 24 months at some extra cost, if need be... I call that.. not an unreasonable business venture/investment.

Domaintools, I hate you! (Not really.) Bulk checked a crazy amount of VR names and there was three gems in the rough showing available... But no, no! They were not available when I tried to reg them w/ GD. To Gwhois I went and they were reg'd May 7th... Blah. I guess I'm a little late to VR when it comes to domains.

Stu, good luck with your domaining! Thanks for creating this thread.

funny point about this thread is the first post i did at the start of this thread was mentioning my new buy.........things went a bit wrong with the communication and the sale fell through............nearly 10 months later and I ended up buying it again .......(VRTech) but through Sedo......always said I had good vision :)

Always have to wait for the world to catch up :)

Stick with me guys! :)

Virtual Reality set to conquer living rooms:

http://www.torontosun.com/2015/05/08/virtual-reality-set-to-conquer-living-rooms

"This is the right time for early stage investors," said Mike Rothenberg, founder and CEO of Rothenberg Ventures, a San Francisco venture capital firm that has invested in VR startups.

Mary Spio, president of Next Galaxy Corp, a Miami Beach company whose Netflix-like platform delivers VR content, said software makers have been waiting for proof of success of the hardware.

"I think we are going to see a slow build up of content and then we will start to see an avalanche of content maybe a few months after the Oculus (Rift) hits," Spio said.

"I think that 2016 really is going to be when we see that inflection, the true transition for virtual reality."

Agreed. Between now and the release, we should focus on disposing of our more regrettable names. Post release, after the lines, the reviews, the reports, is when it should get really exciting. We could probably exit without even having to renew, lol.

I can't wait to try Valve's VR headset system.

I also think that VR will win the race, but those are adresses, you will not get anymore, if VR comes to the final breaktrough, because all people here will reinvest their earned money. ;)

Lol

this has to be the post of the year -

You make money from VR then bash it to move onto another area.

You say that AR is going to be four times bigger than VR? You do realise that VR has been adopted by multi billion dollar companies but yet someone who is not in any industry related to VR comes on a forum and states something which is ridiculous.

AR = HD-DVD
VR = Blu Ray
Who cares about multi billion companies while there is Microsoft on AR side and also dont forget that last words havent told by Apple yet :)

Best to see what happens :)

Both have a good future!

You would have to be out of your mind to not invest in both VR and AR ... not to sound too strong.
