Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

I'm fully aware of the potential of virtual reality domains, just the same as when i started this thread and was buying domains such as VrTech.com, VrBlog.com, VrNews.com, VrSports.com etc etc......i am having the same feeling now about 'Virtual' domains, just like i do time after time in different niches, buying hoverboards.com was another thought before the craze and i just tend to go with the gut feeling! Im always here to say my feelings no matter who listens, who agrees or doesn't! Happy 4th July America, hope you all have a fab day! Peace & Love

yep.. tons of niches around to pick from.. always same old story about them all.. if you don't jump onboard at right time, then its just too late at some point..

at same time, imo VR is not just any niche.. but one with far more potential.. capable of becomng next revolution... like cellphone or internet itself.. many people way more knowledgable than me said it too.. I just happen to agree with it and see that potential as well.. in short.. not all niches are created equal ;)

best of luck mate. ;)

I like the term Virtual as it seems to cover more bases

I agree I personally like short Virtual domains better than VR unless it is a category killer. If I owned a business in the VR space Virtual would be my pick as it can cover all things virtual including VR, AR, MR & Holograms.

However in saying this I own more VR than Virtual domains.

I did invest in 4L.com with VR and V during the chip boom when V & vowels were not sort after & selling for $200 - $300.

Time will tell as I'm happy to sit on my domains for 5+ years and since it is a hobby there is no rush to sell :)

I check in every now and then to see what has been selling. I wish everyone on this thread huge success

if NYCVR.com is winner then I'll assume other City abbreviations is fair game and good bets?

I was trying for NSFWVR.com. taken of course. I did get NFSWVR.com(Not For Showing Wife) instead. not as good. still wanted the whole "not safe for work" idea. tried NSWVR.com (Not Safe (for) Work). Available. took it for the hell of it.

then found out NSW stood for New South Wales.

didn't know what this was but it was in Australia. so checked this out.

http://www.visitnsw.com/

If you all think SydneyVR.com is a good investment. then a domain that covers this City plus many others as a term should be BANK.

If NYCVR can stand for New York City Virtual Reality plus that "other" use for VR. then NSWVR should work somewhat the same.

Plus looks like New South Wales is a pretty sweet area to go on holiday. Plus NewSouthWalesVR.com is taken.

unfortunately NSW as a keyword only gets 74,000. so goes against my rule these days to take only domains with above 100K per month searches. but I like that it's a GEO and it's a short 5 letter domain which is good for Chinese market.

Opinions wanted. just on this domain. not my excessive buying please.;) Thanks.
I've got VRholiday(net) to cover all holiday destinations. It's not a com but should have some value in the future :)

Well done. Maybe my biggest regret when it comes to VR domains is selling my only VR**.com for way too cheap.

Hah yeah I think it is pretty awesome too. I probably wouldn't have listed it for auction, if I wasn't trying to raise some funds so I can focus on studies more fully for the next year.

A follow-up on placesvr sale since the domain now resolves.

It does not appear to be the kind of site one might imagine in virtual tourism. But Almost...

It looks like a it's going to be a SOCIAL version of "BETTER HOMES MAGAZINE" IN VR online.
I find that kinda interesting since I never imagined something like that. It's a Great Idea !
While I think it may be some time for something like this to gain traction, I'm sure it will work.

Just something to think about in the broader VR names schemes going forward.

Nice one, I got an offer on my:-

gVwsL

In .com too last week, wasn’t a bad offer either ($1200), but because there was a game show that was quite popular called G4TV, it’s a name I believe too much in to sell for that.

Not counting chickens, but think it has potential to go down as my best reg in terms of end user$, here's hoping anyway

I was starting to have some doubts on if my vrtransporter would find a demand anytime soon.
Had it about 3 years and was expecting a wait of a additional 3 years for it to be premium.
So I check the results from a direct search from time to time on my names.
I ran into some interesting results this go around on this one.

http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Up...r-new-simulator-rides-movies-this-summer.aspx

http://www.pulseworks.com/products/vr-transporter

They launched the first unit in Dayton, OH June 8th.
I guess the question is who will call on who first. But I'm in no hurry.
For the scale of the company, I'm sure they don't need a separate name, but there will be others I'm sure.
Thinking their need would be more dependent on the success of the product.
Awaiting the future competition... I feel better now :)

there was some talk about:

1. for virtual anything to be effective it needs tons of memory which means it will always need to be connected to a "big box" PC to run a VR experience or else become slaves to the bandwidth barons aka mobile plans.
2. making VR portable via portable VR PC. aka VR backpacks.

Long story short surprised this was available. short and sweet.

GOPCVR.com
GOVRPC.com
VRPCGO.com
PCVRGO.com

6L.com's?

I think compared to watching Mobile VR PCVR will be the king of VR. at the end of the day mobile VR will such depending on your location and connecting to a server via mobile phones.

I think a PC where you slide in a data chip of some sort will have a more seemless experience. I mean hey who here still experiences "LAG" on their "supposed" blazing cable internet? or mobile phone? I can imagine will only be "choppy".

this VR thing is simply just another way for the mobile service providers to "sell" you on more "unlimited" bandwidth just so you can experience a more "rich and full" VR experience.

so up to you. do you want your VR experience to be contingent on your connection speed to the VR server? or do you want your VR experience to be based on a PC that's pumping out the VR experience to your headset?

VRPC is a GO! lol VRPCGO.com!

people will be asking.

"hey let's check out some VR roller coasters."
"wait. is it VR mobile? or VR PC?"
"VR Mobile. why?"
"nevermind! it's gonna be Choppy like a DSL connection. I'll wait for it in VR PC".
"plus you'll just be eating up your mobile"

do you want to play HALO VR on your mobile? I think not. you will want it on your PC!

I woulda taken it! lol surprised no one here is commenting on the potential TM on this one. isn't G4 some popular show for gamers on TV? not trying to poop on this domain because I personally like it and tried to register it but it was taken already. just would like to know how this particular one isn't being "attacked" by the "usual suspects" on here.....not trolling just really curious as to why for my own education.

Good luck with this one! I mean it! as it's been mentioned over and over again. every vr domain sale is a bonus for all us vr domainers.

There's no virtual reality gaming company called:-
5FGPX

And the G4TV trademark got canceled 2010 and G4 media is no longer in business.

Virtual reality heats up in China
The virtual reality (VR) market in China is expected to reach $860 million in 2016 and accelerate to $8.5 billion by 2020.
Rest: http://venturebeat.com/2016/07/03/virtual-reality-heats-up-in-china/

wow
amazing numbers
sounds like enough money for all vr domainers to share in! :)

the great news is.. articles like this were not possible and not happening... a year ago.. or two.. or 5.. so we're definitely going the right direction! its only forward and onward from here and now!

If you look at the "goods and services description" for each mark, you should not find any "confusingly similar" descriptions.
Part of a mark is not a mark.
By Example, You will find the same for Oculus.
But only one for 'vr products or services' being "Oculus VR".
You would be free to use "OCULUS" for anything not already taken in goods and services previously registered as such. But you would not want to use the word Oculus in vr products or services since that would make it "CONFUSINGLY SIMILAR", even though the full mark is 'Oculus VR'.
You could have a Oculus VR (Vacation Rentals) Since you can establish your own rights for use. But not for Virtual Reality since they have establish rights before you.

A simple google search on the 'history of trademarks' can go a long way.
You should also read a trademark case once in a while to keep your thinking current.
I have talked enough on this issue here to say read back in the thread.
Don't listen to us, read for yourself. While I am no PTO Attorney, I have read case law on this for about 8 years now just because of domaining. I think I have a pretty good understanding on how it works by watching and reading how cases are settled and defending a few of my own. It does not take that long to understand it but you do need to know when to defend the names you hold and when to give up easy when you are challenged.
That's all I'll say on it here and now but you can always PM me if you think you need help.
