Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

FYI : ISISVR.com is taken. I wouldn't have taken that. I like the hack instead. VRISIS. as a hack for Crisis just remove the C replace with V. simple.

but then again before the terrorist group ever exist there was the Egyptian Goddess Isis.

plenty of "God" domains registered that I'm sure no one here would ever question.

ZeusVR.com VRZeus.com
ThorVR.com
OdinVR.com
AsgardVR.com
OlympusVR.com (camera? or mythical home of the greek gods? nice one!;))
shivavr.com
athenavr.com
so one and so forth.

if NYCVR.com is winner then I'll assume other City abbreviations is fair game and good bets?

I was trying for NSFWVR.com. taken of course. I did get NFSWVR.com(Not For Showing Wife) instead. not as good. still wanted the whole "not safe for work" idea. tried NSWVR.com (Not Safe (for) Work). Available. took it for the hell of it.

then found out NSW stood for New South Wales.

didn't know what this was but it was in Australia. so checked this out.

http://www.visitnsw.com/

If you all think SydneyVR.com is a good investment. then a domain that covers this City plus many others as a term should be BANK.

If NYCVR can stand for New York City Virtual Reality plus that "other" use for VR. then NSWVR should work somewhat the same.

Plus looks like New South Wales is a pretty sweet area to go on holiday. Plus NewSouthWalesVR.com is taken.

unfortunately NSW as a keyword only gets 74,000. so goes against my rule these days to take only domains with above 100K per month searches. but I like that it's a GEO and it's a short 5 letter domain which is good for Chinese market.

Opinions wanted. just on this domain. not my excessive buying please.;) Thanks.

starting to lean towards 'Virtual+keyword' , been looking about and just noticed who owns VirtualCasinos.com. I did start with 'VR+keyword' and sold a few but i think 'Virtual+keyword' is solid in more than one way.....

Good 'Online+keyword' sales from the start of the internet, and now we have Virtual Reality happening aka "the game changer"........think 'Virtual+keyword' might be the dark horse ............only my opinion and not fact!

good call to keep your jewlery
I own VRjeweler.com

I think VR+keyword is doing just fine so far.
hundreds of sales, enough websites using it.. and all this in baby stages of VR.

Vr+kw for many domains has also been regged for many years.. though I do agre with u that virtual+kw ahs been around for longer.

peraonally, I see VR+kw going above virtual+kw in future.
with room for virtualreality+kw
but.. like you, this is just my opinion too! and a look at past and present situation.. sales webites etc.. future unfortunately remains nothing but an opinion for all of us.

quality 'Virtual+keyword' domains have been reg'd for years along with 'VR+keyword'........tough one to call at the minute, best to keep all basis covered in my opinion. I have sold many quality VR domains but having two words rather than two letters and keyword sits a bit more nicely with me.

Virtual is nice, but I have to imagine that by now that niche has been "mined" at least as well as the VR domains: decent hand-regs are long gone and aftermarket purchases generally speaking expensive for virtual + word.

yep. I see where yoru coming from.
I think on average if you add them all up then prolly virtual+kw has been around for longer than vr+kw. as all domain age averages.. that of coursae says nothing about future. it could go either way.. and this could mean it needs to replace iwth something else.. like VR.. or.. the other option.. that old ways will prevail. I'm persoanally betting on the former.. but.. we all bet where we bet.. then win or loose from it..

good point.
it's at least as mined as VR+kw
with many auction prices even higher than vr+kw equivalents.

I love virtual+kw. own a few too. do not get me wrong.
I just prefer VR... shorter, and perfect abbreviation for virtual reality.. more perfeft than the single word Virtual.. in my view.

@alcy

Good post!

'Virtual'

COMPUTING
not physically existing as such but made by software to appear to do so.
"virtual images"

Virtual Reality is just starting, the term 'VR' might take off just the same '3D' did but I can see businesses using 'Virtual+keyword' along side 'VR+keyword' as they both mean the same.

yep... I mean we've done 1000 pages since you started this thread and brought vr+kw deomains to more people's attention.. (not same as starting the vr+kw domain trend ;)
a lot happened since.

including hundreds of vr+kw sales..and a whole bunch of developed vr+kw sites..
and all this with VR being just a last nite's newborn baby... so this is why I see future as vr bright. but.. it could be anything..

I personally see virtual+kw as bit more of an old term and way of doing things.. which simply needed to be replaced.. and in my opinion it was.. with VR.

good luck mate.
cheers

A lot of quality 'Online+keyword' domains was reg'd in early 90's, and a lot of 'Online+keyword' domains have been sold for a nice sum in the last 6 years so I don't think the term 'Virtual+keyword' has had it's prime time as of yet... - http://dnpric.es/?q=online

a lot of 'VR' domains have been sold to the same person on this forum, even though one man's domain buys doesn't make an industry, businesses will look to the next best thing if a person owning 'VR+quality keyword' wants $xxx, xxx for a domain when they can get a 'Virtual+keyword' for half the amount. Again it's all speculation at this point until the market levels up......

I know lot's of companies having 'keyword+VR.com' but as the technology develops more and more, then 'VR' plus 'Virtual' domains will both become very much sort after in my opinion as it will boil down to the budget of the buyer........

yes for sure! both can easiyl coexist.. have value etc.
I mean no offence to you, but as someone pointed out, and i happen to share that view, I highly doubt virtual+kw is half the price of vr+kw.. in fact, it may be the opposite of that!

I am sure there were buyers on this thread or elsewhere that bought many VR domains just for one person, however, with hundreds of sales done, reported and not... I am sure many people and buyers and sellers have been involved. and again, all this in a complete infancty stage of VR. which is exactly where VR is now. we have not even made one good scratch on a nearly infinite surface.

Totally agree, a "game changer" in technology will bring many new businesses to the surface, in my opinion no 'VR+Quality Keyword' is available at a reasonable price at the minute, lot's of start up businesses will generally start with mid $x,xxx budget for a domain, 'Virtual' means the same as 'VR' and with a "game changer" in the works then a hell of a lot will want a domain. It's nice to sell domains for $x,xxx and a couple under your belt will let you buy nicer ones!

yes well said as always!

the keyword as you said it here is gamechanger.. so when u have a revolutionary tech in front of your face like VR is, there can be demand for all kinds of syntax.. vr+kw virtual+kw virtualreality+kw.. with great popularity, potential, mainstream penetration, tons of games, services etc.. it can become easy to create great demand for domains, of all kinds, quite quickly once things take off... i have a real good feeling about VR. same one I had on the day I invested in my first VR domain.
