Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

a broker has been working with potential buyer on a VR+kw.com sale for me recently. actually this dates back couple weeks.. I almost forgot about it and gave up on chance of sale... I am not sure if its afternic broker or another venue, as this originally came as a price request via afternic.. and this means they can come from any of their partner netowrks. but the email did come from afternic broker.

looks like buyer agreed to buy today. so this shoudl be finalized shortly.

this is only my 2nd ever afernic sale... but from looks of it, the brokers keep going at it for weeks or months sometimes.. good to know for future..

I should be posting the name shortly.
sale is just under 3k.
2016 reg.
another completely non premium keyword sale for me. this time above 3 figures!
good thing I renewed it.
we've seen others non prem sales before.. and no doubt will see others in future.
a very wide and open market for domains is VR. unless all you're interested in is 5-7 figure sales.. in which case, stick to premium keywords only!

good times for VR domains ahead! we're barely just getting started!

Good deal, congrats. It must be a nice keyword for that price. Great to see real sale prices posted for the sector. Will make appraisals must more accurate going forward.

didn't post name yet, but will later.

as I said, the keyword was very average.. but decent and useful for VR! with a very particular niche and purpose! the kind of name most here (myself includeD) would hesitate to reg and/or renew after... hence I call it average.

like a good few sales before this, and many more in future imo, there will be imo many average vr keywords selling for 3-4 figures... with even a few suprise sales for more than 3-4 figures too imo

I never really doubted average but good (single) keywords will sell.. I had many offers over last 3 years... small as may have been in most cases.. plus a few 3 figure sales so far.. to me it was always just a mater of how much they'll sell for... not if they'll sell.. cause aside from big companies and big players with deep pockets looking for premium VR stuff and ready to pay 5-7 figures... you also have the smaller companies.. smaller products.. amateur/fan vr endusers needing domains for their websites etc.. application names.. movies.. games.. the list goes on..... honestly, when I think VR only one thing comes to mind: sky is the limit.. once the tech catches up with the vision of VR... it'll be huge. its just matter of time.

imo

cheers

Oculus: ‘Multiple VR titles have made more than $1M in the Oculus store alone’

For VR to succeed in the consumer space, an ecosystem of developers making content that users want to buy is an absolute must. Oculus for its part has attempted to kickstart that ecosystem by investing hefty sums in content developers, and now the company says it’s starting to pay off. Now Oculus says its investments are starting to snowball into a growing ecosystem. Speaking with Rubin last week, he told Road to VR that “multiple titles have made more than $1 million in the Oculus Store alone.”

These two latest news are excellent for our investments.

It is essential that the developers make money with vr, it is great that they earn a lot.

And that the prices of vr devices are affordable, indeed, essential.

Would be a cool name for a game or company. One of the meanings for 2nd is "alternate"

JMHO, but I think you want to be careful with names like this... While I've seen many kw+ number plays pay off over the years - e.g. Adding numbers "VR1" or "1VR" or "gen" names like "VR2G," "VR3G" - other approaches have had a lot less success, including things like "4thVR" or "secondVR"... This said, I think "2ndVR" is an okay name, I just wouldn't reg a lot of names with this kind of format in future if I were in your shoes. As always, JMHO... GL with your name! ;)

I'm betting it's none Virtual Reality related - If you say the domain out loud it's pronounced as 'over'.

Company names with letters missing (but still pronounceable) can be quite popular, Tumblr, Flickr etc.

Forgot to mention but noticed a few months ago, VRArt dot com sold to a end user (don't think it's been mentioned on here yet), know @Godsrevenge used to own it so be interested to hear what it sold for.

Although I'm done buying now, at the time when it was sold i was looking for another name so don't know why previous owner didn't message me, knew i was an admirer of that domain as i tried to buy it a few times, might have competed for it and could have got more.

yes.. but where the VR sequence in flickr and tumblr? ;)

we'll see how it develops.. but clerly, anything begining or ending in VR.. or even the VR in middle sale like someone here sold metavrse, com ...... always have possible VR relations... umm wait.. was that your sale? I forget.

I guess some years back people bidding on somehting like OVR.com wouldn't for most part even make connection to VR.. but now... VR is known to just about every domain investor... and also to many more regular folk out there.. than before.. in short, almost everyone who sees OVR.com domain recognizes the VR pattern and meaning in it.. wherther they'll buy it for that or use it for that.. well.. that's not really up to us. :)

cheers

I know Godsrevenage owned it just before Christmas as i tried to buy it again, never saw any change up until i saw a different landing page on it back in March, just before i bought my last one by the people who's developed it now.

Potential goldmine was sold anyway in my opinion, so hope whoever owned it got a good price for it, VR Art has potential to be massive same with AR Art and that domain can also represent AR too with the VRAR next to each other.
