Very Sad Day at our Hotel

This past weekend a very vibrant young man that was only 22 years old and had worked for our hotel since he was 16 years old lost his life in a motorcycle accident. Jason Maiden succumbed to sever trauma after being flown from the accident scene in Niagara Falls Canada to Erie County medical center in the USA.

The death of this well liked young man was a complete shock to all our employee's

Jason was a young family man and did not make alot of money, I and my collegues are considering selling some of domain names and donating all monies raised to his young wife and child.

Jason was covered only under our company blanket insurance plan and they will receive 10,000.00 to cover costs of funeral ect and we the hotel owner group have vowed to match that dollar for dollar and the staff members are also doing a collection that we will also match dollar for dollar.

If we do decide to have a domain sale dedicated to the family of Jason Maiden I would only hope that the good folks here at namepros would be interested in aquiring some quality domain names where all 100% of funds raised would go to his family.

I will not be around for a few days as I will be dealing with the logistics on behalf of the family to get Jason back on Canadian soil however all the arrangements have been made

Do a search for "Jason Maiden" for yourself.

I was curious to see if a friend of his had set up a memorial web site ... not that should matter ... should it?

Yes. I've heard of Google. I even did a search on Google and the only results for your buddy Jason Maiden are NamePros results.

I guess your friend didn't set up the memorial website.
Personally I would have called the "friend" and asked him if he did so.

I'm not sure if I understand what the point is for anyone to lie about an incident as you described, but if it's true, it's shocking to say the least.

Has any NP staff got in touch with TT or Dutch1007? I can't find anything on Google about the accident and the link TT posted says "There are no articles at this time". Has the link ever had an article?

Maybe Dutch didn't know about the money being collected, but that doesn't explain the "young wife and little one".

UPDATE... TT is now online (1:42pm Monday).

Yep I remember reading the article last time I posted here, but It was very short and simply stated that Jason died in a motorbike accident unfortunately - I don't remember anything being said about a wife, child, or a hotel...

Hope we can get to the bottom of this

Well if need be I can make a call or two to clarify this situation.

I live in niagara falls, infact I am a realtor here ( Royal Lepage ) and know quite a few people. I even recall reading about the accident not long ago.

TT knows how to contact me if she feels she is being accused wrongly, I had her mom's home for sale a while back so I am not a complete stranger, however I have never met her face to face.

Yeah, maybe you could ask her why she's avoiding the thread. She's been on Namepros many times since Dutch posted (she was on at 2:40pm today) and she still hasn't posted. Weird.

This is bizarre. How much of this was true? Did the hotel match the $10,000 insurance payment? Is a domain auction still being planned? Some people are having some questions about if this was an attempt at a scam or not.

I don't think there's enough information in this thread alone to answer that. This would be a good time for TT to post a public response to the charges dutch007 made.

I hope this doesn't turn into another Staskul-like thread... I've done business deals with TT in the past and haven't had a problem. That being said, dutch1007 did pm me and what he says seems to be legit. I'm still looking for more clarity into this issue.
