Here's my question..what is the value of domain hack? I've seen some good domain hack and i was wondering about the value of it. I myself own one and i'm not sure whether or not i should get more. I haven't seen any sale of domain hack. Why do we register domain hack? Is it because the domain looks cool or because there's a potential end user who's willing to buy such domain?

I dumped all my domain hacks.

They are cool, but most businesses will not use them.

Yes, I know there are some famous examples.

I tried to sell some, but most end users don't understand them.

They think every domain has to have a .com on the end and most do not understand if it is missing.

That is my experience anyway.

If you dumped your portfolio then your pessimism is understandable. I can agree that there are only few examples of use as a main domain, but for redirects, URL shorteners, special projects etc they are still in use. So, I prefer to keep them until I receive price requests :)

Cool name! Absolutely love it
Agree, it's a prime example of a great domain hack.

By the way, in my way of thinking, if the extension (ccTLD for example) is unpopular or "sketchy", I don't care how good the hack is, the domain is going to lose its value. (.it would not fall in that category)
