Transfer prohibited in 60 days after "Push"?

Ok, I just want to make sure of this.
Does this transfer prohibition in 60 days apply to push? I got this email from godaddy when I tried to transfer a name I got pushed from the seller on 8/22 and it tells me I need to wait until 10/21 to transfer.
I'm asking this because I thought the prohibition only applies to post-transfer not post-push.
Can anyone confirm me this?

The transfer of xxxxx.xxx from GoDaddy.com to another registrar could not
be completed for the following reason(s):

Express written objection to the transfer from the Transfer Contact.
(e.g. - email, fax, paper document or other processes by which the
Transfer Contact has expressly and voluntarily objected through opt-in
means).

The express written objection may be the result of a pending or recently
completed Change of Registered Name Holder. This is an opt-in process
during which the new Registered Name Holder agrees not to transfer for
60-days. This domain will be transferrable on 10/21/2006.

If you believe that this domain name does not fit the situation
described above, please contact us at
http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/support.asp for assistance.

When you agree to GoDaddy's universal terms of service, you agree to the 60 day hold. That is what they are referring to with "Express written objection to the transfer from the Transfer Contact. (e.g. - email, fax, paper document or other processes by which the Transfer Contact has expressly and voluntarily objected through opt-in means)" as it is you who has objected to the transfer when you checked the box agreeing to their terms. It is a neat little trick they use.

GoDaddy believes that if anything changes in the whois registrant record, they assume it is a "new" registration and place a 60 day hold.

Actually, I have had this issue as I sell domains to other Lawyers.

If you only change the Adminstrative Contact Email, there is no 60 hold!

This way, the BUYER can request the change of Registrars and he/she will get the email under the Adminstrative Contact's Email.

Hope this helps.

Remember...ONLY the EMAIL can be changed under Adminstrative Contact...if you change the name, address, or other, you are stuck!

Good to know. I just sold a name via Sedo and the new owner can't transfer it away for the same silly reasons. Gotta love godaddy :alien:

The problem I have is that ICANN insists that you keep the records updated and it is completely plausible that the name of the domain administrator would change but the registrant not change or that the registrant changes telephone or address. It used to be based on GoDaddy's "interpretation" of the new registration 60 day hold rule. Now reading the message they send, it appears they force you to opt-in to their policy thereby avoiding the "interpretation" issue altogether. If you want to use their services, you have to agree to their in-house hold policy.
