Traffic Before or After Parking

May be a silly question to a Parking guru, but, is it possible for a hand registered domain name to get traffic once it is parked although it had no previous traffic or type-ins prior its registration?

e.g. you buy the name, you park it, it gets 1 or 2 hits here and there and then all of a sudden it gets 20 unique visitors a day a week later?

possible? if so, how? indexing?

Anything is possible. But it is very unlikely to suddenly start receiving traffic on a domain which is newly registered and wasn't receiving traffic before.
