Do anyone have any info on the top 10 verified (real money) domain sales??
I know this topic pops-up on NP from time to time, but I can't find any threads with (enough) reliable info in them, most of the sales are just rumors...

I'm talking about real money sales here, and not stocks/stickers deals by the way... :)
Business.com is said to be the highest sale so far ($7.5mill), but apparently most of that money was in stocks.
I believe "only" $500,000 of that sale was in cash..

I've been checking various sources now, and so far the only sales I've found over $1mill are these:

Beer.com - Sold to Interbrew for $7 million
Shop.com - Sold to Altura International, a Bill Gates/Amazon.com backed private company, in November 2003 for $3.5 million.
Diamond.com - Sold to Odimo (NASDAQ ODMO), a partnership between Steinmetz Group (the 2nd largest raw diamond company in the world) and Softbank in 2000 for $6 million.
Telephone.com - Sold to a private equity group in 2000 for $2 million cash plus equity.
CreditCards.com - $2.75mill
Fish.com - $1,020,000

Casino.com was sold for $5.5mill, but that deal included the site/portal and some stocks as well (as far as I know), so that one doesn't count either..

Wine.com was sold for $2.9 million, and it included a site, but the buyer (virtualvineyard.com) didn't use that site at all, so this one could be considered a domain only sale(?)
Don't know if any stocks were involved here..

AsSeenOnTv.com was sold for $5.1 million, but I don't know more about that deal (website/stocks etc.??)

Anyone else??

(and please do not post the Beauty.cc $1mill "sale"... ;) )

Hi,

I usually go to this list to check the highest sales. There are a few you didn't mention although there is no way to tell from the price if all was paid in cash. If you have a big interest you can write MultiReg (the webmaster) for more information.

Best regards,

NR.

Check my first post.. ;)

$7.5M, but "only" $500,000 of that was in real cash, the rest in stocks..
So it's wrong to say that it was the highest domain sale of all times IMO, since I doubt that those stocks was worth much after the ".com bubble" burst.. :)

I've seen the lists you've posted here before by the way, but none of the contains any credible sources so I don't regard them as verified domain sales..
I'm looking for "hard evidence" here guys and gals.. :alien: :sold:
