vehicles.xyz is not bad. I can understand the little investment you are trying to embark upon. This business requires risk to some extent. At the same time gilescoley is not wrong for his advisory.
Cheers and good luck.
Actually-one of our names won the first .xyz challenge so we can hold Vehicles.xyz for about 98 years with the winnings. So I'm not sure there's too much risk.

If you think like a stock investor, .com is the Blue Chip Stocks and .xyz is the Penny stock. Penny stocks are very risky, but can have a great upside reward. I have some bucks to risk and started out in .xyz by winning an Ebay auction for a lot of 23 .xyz names for $5.50. I sold one on EBay one week later for $14.50 (demographics.xyz). Not a whole lot of money, but a 263% ROI, with 22 more names to liquidate.

I then looked around and saw there were some nice keywords and first names available still in .xyz, so I dropped a few hunderd and now own about 300 .xyz. Mainly for the flip...like penny stocks..get in and get out. I have no expectations of having a Candy.com type name, but it will provide a nice ROI overall for me.

Oh and whoever posted the snarky remark about those with 2015 NamePros memberships being the only ones to like .xyz, I have been investing in domains since 2004.
I saw that guys remark also re 2015. We were doing this when he was jumping out of school buses would be my guess in 2001. And thanks for the eEconomist.com tag-glad you noticed the name!

Yes you're probably correct-that's why Google, the largest mover on the internet planet, is using .xyz. because it's "wind" .

They used it as a one off for their holding company because "ABC" works perfectly with XYZ.

So there's no reason for people to invest their money on .XYZ (unless it's a kick ass Name), Alphabet used .XYZ just because it's works perfectly with ABC. So.. yeah! What a perfect Win(d) for Negari. Lol.

I've received several low ball xxx offers lately for nice one word .xyz but can't let them go that cheap. Offers seem to be coming from domainers that didn't get in over a year ago and now they want to grab good one word domains at a bargain. :xf.rolleyes:

It's hard to say without knowing the domain of course but I think one should know when to strike the iron while it's hot. If you can do a nice flip now, consider the opportunity to do so now before it's too late.
In domaining I have learned that the first offer received is often the last you'll ever get.
This is the greater fool theory in action, so if you find another bigger sucker take the money and run or you'll be left holding the bag. IMHO.

Several I'm holding were won at auction during the launch of .xyz therefore these low ball figures don't even break even. It's early, I don't mind holding on. And who knows maybe another large company might get onboard with .xyz.

.xyz is a good extension for Chinese I think, no vowels

Over 13,000 new domains have dropped in the last 2 days and over 12,000 of those dropped in less than 24 hours. The only extension around a year old that could have that many drop is .xyz safe to assume the majority of those drops is in fact .xyz so renewal time is not going to be too good for them as many of us on here had thought.

I'm thinking the auction has ended but I could be wrong so this could go higher.

8.XYZ @ DomainFest Asia currently at 339,888 yuan.

$53,214.35 please correct me if I'm wrong. If not this is the highest reported public .XYZ sale, if in fact the auction has ended.

Regardless congrats .XYZ!

Yeah, the number 8 will always sell for a good price, it doesn't matter what extension it is. The sale is about the number, not the extension

Wow I'm waiting for the movie! :xf.grin:

In the 80s and 90s, how many people thought it was ridiculous buy a ..com ?.....is not about to remove an extension it's about what always happens in any market, any company and / or product not have a monopoly forever, and the dot .com today is in the limit of its capacity to offer good options.

There is no product that survive without demand, the problem is that demand is higher than the .com can offer, and if you can offer, then the value is simply too high, so it is normal of .com owners not want to share a piece of cake and even less if it is possible competitors ( any new extension today is a .com competitors )

Today .xyz is guilty of going for the head of dragon, something that was going to happen sooner or later, then it is time to invest in .xyz ? - Yes!...it is time to develop ? - always has been. it's time to sell..- NO.

There is much interest in .xyz domains.

I received so many offer page views to my premium .xyz domains at Sedo.
Though I set minimum offers of $5k and $10k, far too costly for most resellers xD.
So I'm prepared to wait for a few years.
