For some endusers - in 3-figure range.

It's the old: If you own SEX.*** or CASINO.*** types, great. In other words super liquid keywords or very short---yeah there some value. The amount of the some can be debated.

Value depends on if there is a premium renewal, also. If there is a premium renewal, chances are, its not worth it.
I would not register random two words. As of right now, their value is low. I think its more because of the .01 sales they had last year. But, I think their valie will go up. I have a single xyz.

We have sellers here that have sold some xyz domains for XXXX and they keep selling. I own some myself. I think the value of dictionary 1-word dot Xyz will still sell on the domain market
