Now, Im not familiar with how Sedo brokers work. Im guessing that they have a cap from which to negotiate. Considering this, and the fact that your domain is a playoff from MySpace - I think its a great and fair starting bid. Considering the domain name isnt even a year old, I think I would make a reasonable counter of perhaps $500-700 and take the sale.
Or, if your worried about the negotiation stalling due to the counter, dont risk it, take the pay day because I think with the word "the" in your title, the value takes a huge loss.
