Someone did a little detective work. Apparently it's from a 2010 photoshop tutorial - the example in the tut uses the same fake barcode ... and a photo of Obama - !

The reporter didn't discover it, not sure who did. He just did some research and came up with the most likely source. And it's pretty funny, because it suggests this "billionaire" hired someone who needed a photoshop tutorial to do it.
Since you're such a diehard fanboy, I'm sure Fahrenthold is not your favorite reporter. He also broke the story of all the charities Donnie claimed to support which hadn't received a penny from him.
It was a pretty long list.
Time requested that the bogus and misleading covers be taken down.
Right up there with the plaque on one of his golf courses commemorating a fake historical event.
