Let the electoral college elect Mr. Trump not California! Not, New York! Not popular vote! Amen to electoral college!

@JB Lions Too bad you can't write Elon Musk to unban you. Might be a power-trip but then again I don't know what you posted.

Are you calling Daniel Owens a snitch? Have you been misbehaving again?
Are you insulting Elon Musk on X? Are you posting while drunk?
Have you selected your gender? What are your approved pronouns?
Does the Chinese government give you money for your posts?

The Great Dictator was Chaplin’s first film with dialogue. Chaplin plays both a little Jewish barber, living in the ghetto, and Hynkel, the dictator ruler of Tomainia. In his autobiography Chaplin quotes himself as having said: “One doesn’t have to be a Jew to be anti Nazi. All one has to be is a normal decent human being.”

Chaplin and Hitler were born within a week of one another. “There was something uncanny in the resemblance between the Little Tramp and Adolf Hitler, representing opposite poles of humanity, ” writes Chaplin biographer David Robinson, reproducing an unsigned article from The Spectator dated 21st April 1939:
“Providence was in an ironical mood when, fifty years ago this week, it was ordained that Charles Chaplin and Adolf Hitler should make their entry into the world within four days of each other….Each in his own way has expressed the ideas, sentiments, aspirations of the millions of struggling citizens ground between the upper and the lower millstone of society. (…) Each has mirrored the same reality – the predicament of the “little man” in modern society. Each is a distorting mirror, the one for good, the other for untold evil.”

Chaplin spent many months drafting and re-writing the speech for the end of the film, a call for peace from the barber who has been mistaken for Hynkel. Many people criticized the speech, and thought it was superfluous to the film. Others found it uplifting. Regrettably Chaplin’s words are as relevant today as they were in 1940.

From my understanding, Israel was founded in Palestine by Britain in order to gain Jewish support in WW1. We know Germany lost that war. Then, in WW2 Hitler attempted racial purification by the Holocaust. We know Hitler was defeated by the Allies.

Fast forward... Israel has been accused of committing genocide - the population of Gaza either displaced or killed. Now Israel is planning to launch military operations into Rafah. US has strongly opposed the idea, but Israel closed embassies in several Arab nations in preparation, knowing there will be a huge backlash. In order to conduct the operation in Rafah, 1.4 million civilians who have no where else to flee, must be relocated. It will be another bloodbath and a humanitarian disaster. Israel is also conducting strikes into Syria and Lebanon. In response, Syria has just purchased additional fighter jets from France.

Will US and Britain continue to pledge unconditional support for the Israeli military despite the UN calling for ceasefire? Will Israel heed the advice of UN and USA? Could this lead to WW3? In both WW1/WW2, the aggressor was defeated. Will history repeat itself?

@Cannuck God bless Palestine and God Bless Israel. Both countries with people of strong moral fiber. And, yeah it's time for less violence however, seems like each time one drops a bomb the other drop 10 bombs. Hoping it ends soon.

Let Palestine has their own statehood
And Israel mind their own business

Respect each other boundaries
Easy peasy

Feel free to correct me, but the situation in the Middle East has all the hallmarks of a holy war.

@Cannuck God bless Palestine and God Bless Israel.

Invoking His name only exacerbates the problem IMO, since religion is the main factor in the conflict. Only through positive dialogue and tolerance of inter-religious views, can the parties involved solve this crisis.

Religion helps solve the problem it creates harmony. And prayers help stop war. God Bless both. The Lord loves all sinners!

Thankfully, we’ve never had war thanks to all the prayers

Religion helps solve the problem it creates harmony.

Religion is not God, it is simply man's attempt to interpret His word. Organized religion unites some communities under one faith, but divides others.

And prayers help stop war...

People have a tendency to distort the truth, especially when nationalism is thrown into the mix. The Evangelical Nationalists in US will happily support such a holy war, especially if it is fought in a far away land.

As in the Lord's Prayer, "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven"... is that not a call for peace? Prayers don't appear to be working. :zippermouth:

Problem is, the 'powers that be' don't want peace ...factor in greed, many go without basic needs. All hail the mega billionaires!

Obviously, when a superpower cannot itself even control it's ex-president-wannabe, it's gonna disrupt the world. Even worse given the opportunity again, 'cuz he's exceptionally MAGA. :stinkyfeet:

Don't believe he's gonna fix things with Putin either, China and Russia are in cahoots deep. Trump would only isolate US from its allies. GLWT

Donald Trump Panics As Poll Numbers Slide

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...ca21d3aae2c4420bc1597f9676ed30b&ei=11#details

Fighting over abortion. Trump going at Lindsey Graham over it over this:

"Graham responded To Trump who said it was a state issue and not a national one by stating:“I respectfully disagree with President Trump’s statement that abortion is a states’ rights issue. Dobbs does not require that conclusion legally and the pro-life movement has always been about the wellbeing of the unborn child.”

@JB Lions Sounds like tons of Pro-Life states thanks for posting that because it's the majority opinion in America to be pro-life. Trump 2024! All are precious in God's eyes! +1 Trump popular vote and still ahead in 6 out of 7 key states. Let's send e'm Donald J. Trump back to the white house! Send Biden into retirement after all at 81 years old and an average living age of 80 years in USA it's time for Sleepy Joe to go home we don't need and few would want a Harris Presidency.

If Biden were to be re-elected and continue Biden-nomics the country would sink into a pro-longed recession, stocks go down, inflation will rise. I'm rather certain American's don't want 4 more years of Sleepy Joe. Trump is real change!
