If it gets big enough, expect Adidas to issue an apology.

If Adidas issued an apology ...they would be targeting a Black person... you know that is not ok... LOL .. not even if Black people kick the living shit out Asians for no reason.

I ashamed to admit that we, as a human race, fail to recognize or even admit that what has taken millions of years of evolution can been destroyed in a short period of time simply by human short-sightedness.

You know this is why many people are conservative. Because destruction takes place with a fraction of the time, wisdom and effort it takes to create something.

This applies to civilizations and cultures as well as nature, and that's something that radical social engineers (aka Democrats) don't take into account.

Humans have "conquered" nature in the past because they believed nature's bounties to be a limitless resource. They took it for granted. In the same way, extremists want to transform society to their own whims because they take civilization for granted. The destruction of civilization is like the destruction of a natural habitat. It's easy to do and takes a very long time to heal, if it ever does.

@.X. you keep posting these hate crimes but what do the Critical race theory proponents and modern liberals have to say about them?

just trying to lighten the mood, can't imagine being on the receiving end of these incidents. You became Colin Flaherty of the thread:)

“It is an empirical fact that the Earth’s climate has warmed overall for at least the past century. However, we do not know how much humans have contributed to this warming and there is disagreement among scientists as to whether human-caused emissions of greenhouse gases is the dominant cause of recent warming, relative to natural causes” – Judith Curry

Dr. Judith Curry is partly funded by the fossil fuel industry, considered by colleagues as a climate heretic...

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/climate-heretic/

https://www.desmog.com/judith-curry#s5

Scientists weigh in on Curry's statement:

Scientists reactions to the US House Science Committee hearing on climate science

There is indeed overwhelming evidence for warming in the last century. Curry’s claim that no one knows the attribution of this to human impacts is not a valid description of the state of knowledge. There are indeed plenty of studies that use statistical or model-based fingerprints to assess this and they overwhelmingly find a dominance of human activities over natural forcings or internal variability.

Her published papers have been largely debunked as CONSPIRACY PSEUDOSCIENCE.

"Which means that she is clearly going against what the U.S. National Academy of Sciences has said—what every academic, scientific organization in the U.S. that has weighed in on the matter.”

97% of climatologists agree that climate change is largely caused by human activity. Only 3% disagree or remain on the fence.

You know this is why many people are conservative. Because destruction takes place with a fraction of the time, wisdom and effort it takes to create something.

To address this point, I would say that Climate Change deniers are mainly Conservative. The extreme Right-wing faction uses the argument as a Left-Wing conspiracy theory 'to promote their political agenda'.

This applies to civilizations and cultures as well as nature, and that's something that radical social engineers (aka Democrats) don't take into account.

Perhaps this is partly true, but at the same time, the governments of the world are on solid ground by taking action to mitigate the damage to our environment and ecosystems. USA is now the second largest polluter, having dominated industrial growth over the last century. As emerging economies try to catch up to the West, there is no doubt that any reasonable action cannot be realized without the co-operation of both China and India.

Fossil fuels are not going away, but scientific breakthroughs and technological developments can have positive outcomes for the future of our planet if priorities are appropriated in time and with jurisprudence.

A couple points: right-wing doesn't necessarily mean conservative, just as left-wing (as we have seen) doesn't mean liberal. I use conservative and liberal in the classic sense, not in the modern sense where they have joined a growing list of words made meaningless by politics and activism.

And while I can agree that it is mostly the right who see climate change as a vehicle to promote an authoritarian/Marxist political agenda, why not place the blame for that on the left, who do in fact use climate change for just that (and sometimes just to make a bunch of money on the side).

Once science is politicized, it is no longer science. This is the result of a group of people who use science as a justification for oppression and control. Rather than working together to solve the problems facing humanity, they pass imperial edicts that rarely do anything to solve the problem, and often make it worse. One of the ways they make it worse is by associating the science with political activism. Even if the science is correct, people will resist it because of the political baggage attached to it.

Nobody wants to destroy the environment. But nobody sees a solution in simply shifting power and money away from business and investors and into the hands of incompetent and corrupt regulators and politicians.

I agree wholeheartedly. The Left vs Right battle minimizes any natural attempt to have rational discourse. What I do see as an emerging threat that destabalizes world security and human civilization is water shortages. Why not take a course correction so as not to destroy the most valuable resource we have?

The lesson of history is that in the tumultuous adjustment that surely lies ahead, those societies that find the most innovative responses to the crisis are most likely to come out as winners, while the others will fall behind. Civilization will be shaped as well by water's inextricable, deep interdependencies with energy, food, and climate change.

Climate Change and the Ten Warning Signs for Cults

from

from
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=global+warming+cult

1. Absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability.
2. No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry.
3. No meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget, expenses such as an independently audited financial statement.
4. Unreasonable fear about the outside world, such as impending catastrophe, evil conspiracies and persecutions.
5. There is no legitimate reason to leave, former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil.
6. Former members often relate the same stories of abuse and reflect a similar pattern of grievances.
7. There are records, books, news articles, or television programs that document the abuses of the group/leader.
8. Followers feel they can never be “good enough”.
9. The group/leader is always right.
10. The group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing “truth” or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible.

Agreed. When I was in agriculture, I saw the damage being done to water resources in Australia, the USA West and China. None of those are on a sustainable agricultural path, and they are all going to run into serious trouble in the near future.

I have also visited the deltas in Vietnam and Bangladesh, and seen the growing problems there, a big one being China diverting the water sources of these great rivers into local industry and agriculture, leaving their neighbors downstream to a trickle. Since these aren't easy problems to solve, they will likely be settled the old fashioned way: war.

A big contributor to all of this is over-population. It is undeniable that a smaller population would greatly alleviate almost all of these problems, and give humanity some time to evolve to where we have the technology and social cooperation to solve these issues. And no, we don't need a megalomaniac like Bill Gates to kill off certain populations. People have shown that they stop having as many kids when the environment is hostile to it. Developed countries mostly have falling birthrates. Developing countries are booming, but sending their excess population to developed countries. At some point that will stop and nature will take over with the usual plague, pestilence, natural habitat and resource destruction. Probably aided by wars.

Or maybe people will finally learn to live together and not be manipulated by their leaders? (One can dream...)

As this is a US political thread, my main objective is to raise awareness to more serious global issues and to wave a red flag in order to protect protect future lives and livelihoods. Canada is also an immigrant nation, a natural effect of overpopulation, mostly in Ontario (India) and BC (China).

Canada-Immigration-by-Country-2019.png

The North is relatively well positioned to sustain water resources, even though we share an aqueous border - the Great Lakes (21% of the world's fresh water), which may likely be drained in the eventual water crisis in the US.

Or maybe people will finally learn to live together and not be manipulated by their leaders? (One can dream...)

Personally, I have already made the necessary course correction for future security of sustainability with regard to health, energy, food production, land and water resources. IMO, the rest of the debate is moot. :zippermouth:

A starting position with a forced mate? something only that would entertain you. It provides ample insight to your state of mind, and a nice try, probably why you have a closed mind and seldom make sense.
But you do enjoy any sort of attention and if chess is an indication a good spanking too:)
