How is this entire trip not seen as an embarrassing misfire for Trump? He walked away with nothing. Kim Jong Un meanwhile, an isolated, hated dictator, is being praised by the President of the US on an international stage.

Let's use a little common sense, something Trump lacks. Tell me what is wrong with the thinking below.

With NK and denuking.

First, you figure out what the goal is, that makes sense right?

Trump said the goal is denuking. So first we need to define what exactly that means, correct?

Just yesterday they said that Trump and Kim can't even agree on what that even means, they have different definitions.

Let's pretend they did. Denuking doesn't happen overnight, there are certain steps to be taken. Let's call them:

Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
etc.

Now, wouldn't it make sense to put dates on those, at least the first steps so we know they are serious?

Step 1 by June 2019.

If that date comes and that step isn't done, then we know they're not serious.

Trump went from denuking now, to, we don't have a date on this, we're not in a rush.

Does it seem like it's working out to you? Or did he just get played yet again?

What part of Kim isn't going to denuke is going over Trump and his supporter's heads?

Still not getting it aren't you. You don't engage in that kind of political process without a clear roadmap. There never was a roadmap and 45 keeps moving the goalposts.
Denuclearize Korea now. Wait, just talk. We are in no rush. Later, later.

So far he got zero commitment, no achievement, nothing. As expected.
At least he got one thing he desperately needed: splashing his ego on the world stage while pretending to be a peacemaker.
Kim got recognition, something that all former presidents have always refused to do. They knew better, because they listened to more experienced people. A stable genius who is an expert at everything (like Kim) will never heed sound advice, even from his own administration.

Kim is smarter, but it's not that he's so smart, he's dealing with an absolute moron and he's having fun. Trump is not even a president, he does not defend his own citizens, journalists, and even sides with dictators against his own intelligence chiefs.
I don't know what it takes, but your tolerance level to treasonous incompetence and dishonesty is obviously sky-high. Your outrage is misdirected, it should be aimed at somebody else, somebody who has failed your country.
