Many here have some great names, many have valuable, many have quirky, and many have downright silly (myself included) - but among them all I know there is bound to be ONE that you would never ever sell, swap, lease or give away. It is the favourite of favourites - the one that is closest to you. A name for life (or at least a name that you would only sell for life changing bIG bucks).

If I tell you my one - will you tell others yours? And your reason why?

For me it is US.TV.

The name epitomises everything I could ever want in a domain name. It is short, it says everything in four letters, it is an instant brand and if need be an instant extension rather than a domain.
It is a name that I am happy to be hanging my developing hat on. A name that has inspired me to employ the services of others to help turn into something wonderful - and the first name of the many I own that my family and friends instantly understand - and let out a sigh of relief that I've not been wasting my life for the past few months!

I would love to hear of others favourite names.

To make it more interesting may I also add a favourite name I don't own - Scotland.TV. Both parents from Scotland - I can heard the bagpipes already!

.US domains.US domains
Li.tv and Seoul.tv

I love li.tv for many reasons.

It is a ll.tv
It can mean many things from Long Island to the most popular surname in the world.
It is only $1k renewal,
Did i mention i love this name ? :)

Not interested in selling at the moment as its being developed within LocalExperts Network.

I co-own Seoul.tv with John and we would both not sell for anything less than a huge amount of money.

Apart from the obvious Geo values it is also non premium.

Interesting thread. While i can't really comment with a .TV that i wouldn't sell, i'm thinking about relisting Chalk.TV, i'll borrow your thread idea and ask the same question concerning ALL extensions in the break room.

As i said, interesting question. :tu: (rep coming)

The one I would not sell, hmmm. Sorry, gotta say all of mine are for sale, though personally the really good ones are waiting for demand to catch up to their perceived ( by me ) worth.

The one I will probably hold out the most for will be Instructor.tv.....

I do have a couple of .coms I am holding onto that I want to build up for fun.

rogue, you whxxxx!!!

completely understand what you mean

instructor.tv is a powerful name - well worth waiting for the market to peak before u consider selling it.....

for me - i have recently sold off all my premiums that i will not be prepared to renew for the next twenty years - and am left with a few gems that i will not sell short of life changing money 0 and they are thailand.tv, sanjose.tv,fix.tv and vid.tv

I doubt there is anyone that has a domain they wouldnt sell no matter what, especially one that isnt .com. Everything is always for sale. What if someone offered you $20 million for your .tv domain, you still wouldnt sell? You could take that money and buy almost any domain you want and still have money left over. What if it was annouced that .tv were going to be shut down and eliminated as an extension, then you still would sell if someone made you an offer? I think the dumbest think I experience in domaining is when I email someone asking how much they are selling their undeveloped domain for and they reply back saying its not for sale. They could be missing out on a ton of money and not even know it. If they dont want to sell for less than a million then they should at least reply back saying thats what it will take.

Atma.tv

Still trying to get permissions in place to launch it as a TV channel... even IPTV, real expensive affair.

But all my domains are for sale... at the right price ;)

Two points u make - reality check and common decency

On point one i think your evaluation that what if you got a crazy offer scenario is what MOST people mean when they say THEY WILL NEVER SELL A PARTICULAR NAME......

some people though actually mean it....they have no monetary interest in the name to sell it at any price - such people who fit into this bracket are few and far between and all usually share a similar milestone in their career - they have already made pot loads of money......

As to your second point - its av fair point, but try and understand it from the perspective of someone who has a million dollar name and gets thousands of "would you take a thousand dollars?" enquiries a day....after a coupke of years you may understand why the person will stop responding....

however, there are plenty of cases where there is no excuse for lack of professional courtesy.response......

I don't have any that I would not sell, however my current favourite that would only leave my possession for big buck's is Memory.tv
Although I only recently acquired this domain, it is the only one that I have actively chased in an auction that I was determined to get, no matter what. The thought of owning this domain made me tingle...If any of you have had that feeling you will know what I mean. :)

I have 2 that i dont plan selling anytime soon (Scotland.tv & belfast.tv) but the whole reason for buying is to sell at some point when the price is right, i will feel bad is i ever sell both without making them into established stand alone businesses but if i get offers that meet my valuations then i'll be delighted to sell.

Of course owning Scotland.tv is special to me as a Scotsman so if/when i ever sell it then it will be sad but the massive profit will make up for it!! :$: :$:

Jimbo if you ever really want to own Scotland.tv then give me a call, i'm a nice guy who would give you a good deal since your parents are from God's country like myself. :hehe:

sorry i forgot to mention that i was talking about just average names or names that wouldnt have much value. I email people all the time about their names some of which would just be regfee if they tried to sell on this forum and the names are just parked or sitting there. I also forgot to mention that I also collect .tv domains so my opinions arent against .tv at all.

forexbrokers.tv
toners.tv

when qoof launches fully, video content and eventually video eccomerce will catch a wave, my eccomerce product names will catch a wave i believe

even though i have never traded the forex market ever but since i was 16 i have been very intersted in learning the forex...i was on the floor of the chicago merc and met couple traders through a worker there at the time..currency trading, forex area is the biggest market in the word, 24 hours a day and i am bullish on stock terms for .tv

good thread here and what a great idea...rep on its way jimbo for a good job and a successful thread.

Len- Ever checked out randomaccessmemory.org? You could do something similar, only with video...

For me its RSS.TV and I have gone back and forth on whether I wish to sell or not. I just think with the convergence of Internet and TV that RSS.tv is a great domain for an Internet Channel or a place that aggregates all the feeds that you can pull up to your tv set from the internet.

Interesting, although you have to sign up to access the site. Looks like that would work for video but unsure about the bandwidth costs to run something like that.

No domain I wouldn't sell, I seriously doubt there is any domainer on earth who wouldn't sell a name for the right amount of money.
