Many here own some great names, some valuable, some quirky, and some downright silly

but

among them all I know there is bound to be ONE that you would never ever sell, swap, lease or give away. It is the favourite of favourites - the one that is closest to you. A name for life or, at least, a name that you would only realistically sell for life changing amounts of cash.

Would you care to share the name and your reason why it is so special?

To make it more fun, why not add a name that you DON'T own, but would dearly love to have in your portfolio.

For me, the hardest to part with would be

US.TV

The name that I don't own, but would be delighted to own is News.TV

Easy for me. Links.com. The other domains I would have no problem parting with - though I doubt anyone else would want them.

I don't want to sell Daughters.tv because someday that will be a site dedicated to my twin daughters that I plan to develop as they go through life through ongoing and updated video of them.

Thanks, Jim

The ultimate everlasting gift Jim - very nice indeed, especially as you rate that name above so many of your other nice names.

Unfortunately for me, I have no names that I have a personal attachment to . The one I did have a very big attachment to I sold - because i desperately needed the money as my health deteriorated and my medical bills shattered my credit. Those who have been around a while know which name I am referring to.

I guess if I had to choose one - it is Trading.TV. I have always loved and played the markets and I will be renewing this one and co-developing it at some stage with a top ten .commer (pleasantly surprised that he likes it as a .tv!)! who really likes this name and has so many connections with Wallstreet in one way or another.

Nice thread.

Only thing I won't sell are my children's 'names' dot com. Everything else can go, even though my favorite domains would set you back a bit.

I would pay mid xx,xxx to own tarps dot com, but they ain't selling. As for .tv, hmmm, I do regret suggesting militaryhistory.tv to someone else instead of regging it myself, lol.

Idem here, I'll never sell Maud.tv as I wish to keep it for my daughter.
I would pick up Wow.tv, just for the fun.

All my names are for sale, at the right price ;)

The only one that I would be a bit hesitant on selling is AsianGirls(dot)tv as I love asian chicks :)

StockExchange.TV - it would be actually for sale , but for for most people would said, for unrealistical price ,this should pay my pension ;) .

or AmoledTV.com for the mainstream product in next 3-4 years , this is another sample of such a name I would not sale for mid xx.xxx becouse the market will be in billions of $$$ , it is like LcdTV.com , PlasmaTv.com now

probably the closest to your point is my surname , as for this would anybody offer me any interesting $$$ as I am using it for myself and I am prepared to use it for my sons emails as it looks so cool to have email like [email protected] !

I "own my name," and would not sell it, since it's also my father's, grandfather's and great-grandfather's (we're an unimaginative lot, but dashingly handsome, which makes up for it.)

Hard to think of anything else in my portfolio I would not sell. I might hold on to my oldest surviving domain name, which I regged in 1998, just for nostalgic purposes. But it has a functional site on it, and if someone wanted the site it's hard to imagine I'd walk away from cash for the sake of holding on to an imaginary piece of property that ICANN, the government or simple technological advances could yank out from under me at any time.

In the consideration of what one (person) might never sell ONE (.TV domain) of ... the costs if its acquistion and, if premium, :$: RECURRING ANNUAL Reg. fees must be factored; I know of no other extension that has such a blatantly prohibitive, ongoing cost structure! :guilty: :imho:

Unless you're the ilk of a Bill Gates, it's not realistic to be able to keep a(ny) good "Premium" .TV domain name (for instance, of the variety of News.tv) year-after-year-after-year ... without at least properly monetizing it to cover these excessive costs. :gl:

i think its ridiculous when people say there is a domain that they wouldn't sell. its better to say you wont sell cheap. it is only a domain name. there is not even a guarantee domain names will still be used 10 or 20 years from now. everything is always for sale. there are names i am personally attached to such as my own name in .com but if someone offered me $100 million for it then they can have it lol. you are telling me you guys wouldnt sell the names above for $1 billion?
