I came across an awesome interview the other day.
It's the legendary discussion between Aaron Wall and Frank Schilling:

As you can see it took place way back in 2007. The future certainly looks bright when this interview took place.
So what are your thoughts on the landscape now? Have things really changed that much since this interview took place?

I'm interested to hear your views.

There is no other place where you can start a business more cheaply than online. As thousands loose their jobs it seems obvious many will gravitate toward the internet. Even if they start with Ebay and/or Craig's list they will eventually want their own websites and for that they need a domain.

I think you have to be careful interpreting Schilling's comments because he is talking about top level names with typein traffic. Much of what he says may not apply to less valuale names primarily intended for development.

One of the gems in our industry. I admire Schilling more than just about any other top guy out there. Latona is probably my #2 favorite. Both guys are intelligent and forward thinking. That interview imho shows how well thought out his domaining really is. He hits the mark well on a few points such as the way drops are handled by a third party and eventually may be controlled by ICANN.
