Hi everyone! The 3D market appears to be exploding! Record takes at the box office by movies such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland and the announcement this week of the new 3D TV which is set to hit markets shortly have helped buoy interest in 3D multimedia platforms. Even the major American television network NBC has jumped in and will be broadcasting the NCAA Final Four basketball games in 3D!

A direct beneficiary from this renewed interest and greatly improved 3D technology is the domain business. Some of you had foresight many years ago and reg'd great names early on. Others (myself included) have only become aquainted with 3D domaining more recently, but see the huge potential this market has opened up for domainers.

Let this be the place for you to show off your 3D domain names. Ask for opinions, marketing strategies or even an appraisal or guesstimation of value. Also, feel free to post any relevant news releases/articles related to the 3D industry.

Taking famous TM and adding 3D is only going to get you in trouble sooner or later. It is only a matter of time.

There are many people in this thread who are making an effort and are willing to learn. However, there are others who just don't get it and never will.

If they want to flush their money down the toilet on obvious TM domains with the possibility of facing a UDRP, or worse, then good luck with that.

so im too new to be saying anything about TM issues and stuff, just wanted to say newbies should listen to Bmugford for some solid advice

To be perfectly honest when i regged the names TM issues's didn't even enter my head. Now i do look, although i must confess that i'm still not 100% sure what i'm looking for especially when there are thousands of TESS records for one name.

Anyway, on blogspot the TARR is dead so i presume this is ok but not sure what would happen if it is renewed. Can't find a TM for myspacelayouts and there are heaps of myspace and variations on it regged and for sale so i'm hoping that is ok. If not, a lot of people are in trouble. Halo of course is the one in contention and i will sort it out. It is currently forwarded to an informational blog on video blogging.

There are 1611 records for 3d and 3ds on TESS, with TM's on 3d video, 3d movies, full led tv, virtual 3d, 3d cad 3d three, 3d cinema clips, 3d, 3d games, auctioneer, 3d me etc etc etc.

Lastly, perhaps if a couple of you guys stopped making insulting and childish remarks (which also is not very good for noobies) and put your knowledge where your mouth is we might all learn something!

You've been here going on three years and in that three years time, still haven't figured out the absolute, most barest-bones basics of what constitutes a TM domain?

It's hard to call yourself a 'noob' when you've been participating on a domain forum at least that long.

The way to learn about Tm issues is to put a serious amount of time aside to research it. The archives here are massive and a good read through the legal thread will teach you a lot.

Basically, when someone like facebook developes a brand, which is the name they are known by, then Bill comes along and registers facebookwhatever .com. Bill has registered that domain in bad faith, because he is intending to profit off someone elses Trademark. This is known as Cybersquatting. If he registers facerbook .com then he is Typo squatting, which is just as bad. Because other people do it, that does not mean that they are not cybersquatters, it just means that they haven't been caught yet.
