there was one name(.com) from latest droplist i saw was available in my dynadot bulk search and i did research on it for 5-7mins then decided to register it at sav.com which i was able to but after registeration immediately i recieved refund for it when i saw at whois that it was at sav only. so i asked customer support who told me that since that domain was backordered earlier at sav hence i recieved refund for it and my registeration failed. my point is that if it was due to backorder then how was it available for at least 5 mins, that basically defies the very purpose of backorder. is their backorder service the worst one? its creation time matches exact with the minute i recieved cancellation email for it. so if i had decided to register at dynadot or any other registrar i would have got that domain, 5-7mins i only did research on it. my question is their backorder service the worse one or is there something else to it?
whats the purpose of such backorder service?

I stopped trusting SAV any longer, their suspicious actions in Auctions and backorders have put me on guard, the reason I did not dropcatch manually the (ARcopilot//com) domain, which I did not hand reg more than a year ago, someone did then drop it, this is because SAV really has an dropcatch automated tool, then they pushed it to auction and it sold to someone else for about 80$, but what I want to say is that when SAV have $$$ interests, they will jump any obstacles to do it.
It would be good for you to share the domain, so we can name and shame them together.

I have avoided them since a bad experience a few months ago. Unlike Dynadot and GoDaddy, they will push a domain to your account without requiring your approval first. And customer service was impossible to get a response from.

I based everything Sav has to offer on my first impression with their choice of a dn; which is a terrible typo domain. Thus never tried their service also based on users experiences.

If a marketplace wants to offer a service, the first place to start for them would at the very minimum a quality brand name as a cornerstone for their services.

There can be exceptions, for example Porkbun. This is an out of this world, seemingly ridiculous name. Not many took the registrar serious to begin with but they PROVED trust and user collaboration for growth from the onset and now is a loved brand across millions of users.

Namepros is another trusted brand, the dn just screams longevity.

Sav has to change their name and rethink some of their policies and interaction.

This seems like a very extreme edge case. You were essentially trying to drop catch and it seems like their registry service updates faster than the backorder cron can run. They should try and make it so update happens after backorder cron service runs, but then again. I've been using sav for almost 3 years now and haven't had any trouble with them. The only pain I have with them is that a user can not bulk update DNS, so I have to create a ticket if I want to update DNS for a set of domains, and they usually do it in 3-4 days. For my use, they're great for the price.

their backorder service simply sucks. i have recieved plenty of such responses from others after i shared my above experience. backordering at sav doesnt mean domain getting booked immediately necessarily. it could be very well available for 5-10mins or more before sav attempts to book it. in short they have the worst backorder service this also means when registering any name from drop list you take a risk to trigger any pending backorder there in turn losing that name. thats exaxtly what happened with me.

The backorder was working fine until a year or more ago, now they don't catch domains instantly, which can't sell in Auction, as in the case of some domains I backorder, if they see $$$ they will catch it using their automated tool in less than a second.

I would be happy to take a look further into this, look at the domain, and share the details. @DnFolk - DM Me the domain name and your email if interested.
