Subforum in Domain Name Discussion forum for CCC.ext, CCCC.ext, brandables

Our domain name discussion forum has been getting clogged lately by threads such as L-L-L.com availability/buyout/countdown, LLLL.com availability/buyout/countdown, LLL.in/LLL.co.in, brandable LLLLL.coms (5L).

That's all great.. I'm a big fan (and large investor) in some of them.. But we're seeing so much of this in domain discussion lately, I think they deserve their own subforum (or even a main forum). The ability for members to discuss names of the NNN.ext, NNNN.ext, etc would also be welcomed.

Certainly the sheer number of posts and views could warrant it -- the LLLL.com Countdown thread has received more posts and views lately than many entire subforums..

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I like this idea as well

I would say a short domain category where a short domain is defined as a domain with 5 characters or less. (possibly 6 characters or less)

..

Although I am not personally that interested in LLLL.com I would agree that the discussion forum does seem, as you say "clogged".

A subforum would'nt hurt, they look as popular as .us IMO :)

Good luck to all you LLLL.com investors :tu:

Great idea. I've been noticing the same thing, but I wasn't exactly sure what the best solution would be. This one, in my opinion, sounds like the best bet. :tu: If hype dies down over a certain trend (LLLL, for example), the subforum will still exist for the other trends.

:imho: B-)

I also support it. The domain discussion forums is too crowded with all kind of short domain threads.

I agree - the main forum is getting a bit clogged with threads dealing with subjects other than LLLL / L-L-L ...

Makes it hard to find some of the older threads I'm looking for in my main area of interest - when they scroll off the main page, getting bumped by such nonsense as "Market Outlook for Premium Generics with Traffic and Revenue" and other trivial fluff like that ... well I really have to wonder where peoples' priorities are! :hehe:

Seriously, makes good sense to create a sub-forum with focus on LLLL etc... Will at least make it a lot easier to find relevant threads all in one place.

Sorry for the very late reply. I haven't brought it to RJ's attention yet. Better to see if there is significant demand before bothering him with such.

With an LLLL.cn buyout now, I guess we can look forward to even more such threads (and talk has began on LLLL.net :hehe: ).

Almost all of the "official" threads with more than 10 pages show enough support for a sub forum.

Yeah, it will be more organized imo.
Let's go for it!

As a moderator of the Domain Discussion Forum, I would support it, but I don't think it has the same kind of merit that the current subforums have, being .mobi, .tv and .us

cool. What we may lack in merit we make up for with madness, not mention sheer volume ...
