Hi everyone,

we have some big .tv investors in the spanish market here and lets form an offical thread on this. the spanish market is being developed, some big sales are happening and offers im hearing. imo the spanish market is forming well, the values on spanish words are going up and with a growing spanish population worldwide, usa as well. one of the fastest growing sectors and fortune 500 companies are taking notice on these facts.

please state why you like the spanish market, your overview on things and list of names you own. english version would help as well!!!

Why I like Spanish .Tv

jim had gotten me very interested in spanish .tv and a couple other .tv investors in this market. i really enjoy this market and reading old spanish posts the past couple years here. i wish i had bought up spanish names when i first came on the boards but i didnt. took me many months to finally realize what jim was saying and i personally owe jim a big thankyou into this area and answering my various questions i had and im sure i annoyed him as well, lol..thanks jim and thats why your spanish .tv king here-you noticed this trend early on and you own a killer portfolio in .tv and the .com. :great:

we always bad talk about demand media and Verisign factors and there big yearly fees on names. one great thing about spanish .tv and growth sector is that most of the key words have not been priced up like the english .tv names. of course there are exceptions to things-news.tv is 7k a year sitting, comedy at 50k and a few others in spanish. imo this is a huge for .tv developments and price appreciation on paper values. eventually the usa market is predicted that the white population will eventually be a minority and the spanish market here in the usa market is huge. american businesses catering to spanish families who do not speak english that well or not at all. the spanish forums have really taken off and there all huge believers in .tv. hope one day namepros .tv forum can expand into the spanish domainer community one day and be a wise chose for rj as well.

My Spanish .tv Names:-please put english version as well for us-makes things a lot easier for us

keyword in spanish (english version)

1. esposa.tv (wife.tv)
2. esposas.tv (wifes.tv)
3. copiadoras.tv (copiers.tv)
4. cachorro.tv (puppy.tv)-purchased and nda through johntv-thanks john!
5. gatos.tv (cats.tv)-purchased and nda through johntv-thanks john!
6. hispanas.tv (hispanic.tv) namejet
7. many more names to announce in the future

(hope to buy more names and will probably try to develope a couple names i am sensing-mainly gatos.tv for sure). need to buy more spanish names and im looking around each day. need to try to keep up with the players in this field(lol) but right now i am in little league learning the market and hope to allocate a huge spanish portfolio before the .tv cruise party!)

Spanish .tv

Years ago a friend of mine convinced me of the value of learning Spanish as he saw the trend of American companies doing business in Latin America, increased Spanish-speaking immigration, etc. I picked up the language, developed a passion for Latin culture, worked in the Latin American division of two technology-oriented multinationals for several years and eventually found my way into domaining in late 2005. By then there was nothing available in English so I migrated to what I knew - Spanish. Like any newbie it took a while to learn the ropes and I didn't start registering .TV domains until 2008 (very late to the game). Some of my .tv domains...

Jeff, thanks for the complements, but living in San Diego just 20 minutes north of the mexican border, it's impossible to ignore the spanish market. I started buying spanish .com in 1999 and spanish .tv in 2000 when .tv came out. In fact, my first .tv in any language was Pornografia.tv (Pornography) in spanish.

I like the spanish market because that is where the growth is both in the United States and worldwide. Also, there are still great deals in the spanish domain market but those who wait too long will miss out.

Since this is a .tv forum, I will list only my spanish .tv below:

Actor.tv (Means the same and spelled the same in English and Spanish)
Camara.tv (camera)
Chiste.tv (joke)
Espanol.tv (spanish)
Homosexuales.tv (Homosexual) I only love women though.
Medico.tv (medical/doctor)
Modelo.tv (model)
Negros.tv (negros)
Pelicula.tv (movie/film)
Politicas.tv (politics)
Pornografia.tv (pornography)
Programa.tv (program)
Artes.tv (arts)
Buen.tv(good)
Colegio.tv (college)
Colegios.tv (colleges)
Computador.tv (computer)
Cuarto.tv (room)
EstadosUnidos.tv (United States)
Juguete.tv (toy)
Regalo.tv (gift)
Relato.tv (story)

Note: 17.tv, 20.tv, 25.tv, 30.tv,(numbers are same in spanish as english)

Thanks, Jim

Thanks for the kind words Jim and Jeff. As many know, I am quite bullish on the Spanish .TV space. There are quite a few developed websites, the reseller market is highly active and even decent end user sales are occurring.

The general market statistics suggest that this is an untapped space relatively and the growth is exponential. I have been fortunate to accumulate Spanish names that are non premium. Most of them cover high level verticals.

You have to think more at a level where end users would be able to generate return. Can you create portals, sub domains, etc? Is the term generic enough to do this?

In addition, with the low renewal fees, the carrying costs become more manageable and even reseller prices may be attractive if you decide to turn over money and reap return on capital.

The names are out there and it just depends on what your exit strategy is. This has been discussed previously as well. There are quite a few folks here who have great names and should do quite well.

Best,
A

Dominios.TV (Domains in Spanish) : Not disclosed

Best,

Cocina.tv (kitchen) has an offer of 1750 euros on SEDO (not my domain)

One thing that should not be overlooked. While periodically one will see four-figure sales of Spanish domains, that is a very small percentage relative to the number of registrations. A portfolio of .TV domains becomes very expensive if one has their domains parked waiting for an eventual buyer. End user buyers are not easy to find and quite frequently don't see why they should fork out $1000+ for anything other than a one-word .COM when they can register a domain reg fee on their own (likely not a good one but domainers have to realize that their perspective is different). Thus, some development effort is the best solution.

While parking income is not significant I have noticed in recent months that several domains which a year ago had virtually zero traffic now have 8-12 visitors a month. And some of those domains are not .COMs.

Wish I had more though, I think there is some good potential.
