i was browsing tdnam and i saw my domain name 'tinygadget.com' for sale. it has already 3 bids at $4k? Pardon me if i got it wrong as i dont know how tdnam work. I would like to know 2 things.

1) Why is the domain, which is still under my name, being sold by someone else?

2) I see 3 bids and $4k price. Does it mean there are really buyers and the buyers are willing to pay 4k?

Would really need advice from fellow domainers.

Many Thanks,
yapzhanyang

I would check all info, and also the domain, to make sure it's not a typo. Then ring Godaddy quick smart, as for the bids, not sure, co2.

It's not 3 bids actually, it's 3 past offers starting from $10.

The $4,950 is seller's asking price.

You should contact Godaddy to remove it from sale list.

Check your whois data. If I'm not wrong from my early days in TDname you cannot list a domain where your not the owner via whois by any means.

The admin email? Also check the domain spelling at TDname. And check your GD account if you accidently listed it for sale. Cheerio

Domain Advertising

A similar thing happened to me a few years ago with DIETRY.com
I tried to advertise it for sale with Afternic, and got an e-mail from them saying that I could not sell it because it was already listed for sale by someone else. I contacted ICANN and proved to Afternic that I was the rightful owner. They then removed the previous listing and banned the perpetrator from listing again. I think the scam may be to sell anyones domain name at say $xxxx and then try to buy it from you at a lower $XXX price to complete the sale for themselves.

Shorting your domain name, I guess.

Perhaps the listing was placed by the previous owner and is now obsolete.

Whenever I seen this I do a number of things. One, the most effective is I make an outrageous offer on the name. It's mine and no one has the right to sell it. Then you contact customer support saying you bought this name and seller won't respond. Bingo, eventually someone will get it and light bulb will go on.
