Alrighty guys -

I have spent the past few years teaching myself how to build websites. And I'd like to think I'm pretty good. Recently, I remembered that I had a few domains not in use. I want to start getting a feel for this business by selling these off. I'll give you links to the domains at the bottom.

Are they worth anything as is? Is it worth developing them? What about parking domains? Should I use a service or do it myself? Does anybody have any tips for a newbie like me?

Also, when it comes to 'developing' a site, I know how to do it, but just not what to put there. Blog? Articles? Relevant links? I'm kind of lost there :/

Thanks in advance! ;)

Domains:

CrafThis.Com
HelpingOnTheGreen.Com

I'm new to this as well, but I think first you need to get a sense of which of your domains could benefit the most from each form of monetization. Do some keyword research. Parked domains aren't going to generate much unless you have killer names with a lot of type-in traffic or backlinks. On the other hand, if your keywords are really good, you could also think about making a mini-site and adding Adsense or other affiliate programs to generate revenue.

Pick 1-2 domains you'd like to develop. Developing full sites isn't easy, and takes time. When it comes to actually putting them together, for the smaller (mini) sites that won't need much updating, you can use simple php templates, but for more complex sites, go with a blogging platform or CMS like Wordpress.

I'm going through the same thing right now. I had an expert go over my portfolio last week, which consisted of domains I wasn't doing anything with, because I couldn't figure out where to start. He weeded out the crap and told me to start by parking everything at Sedo (or Fabulous, or your other parking platform of choice), then adding them to GoDaddy sales/auctions, and then choosing the 1-2 that have the most potential and developing them.

Park, develop, advertise, repeat. :)

Edited to add: If the domains you're talking about are the ones listed at the bottom, I'm afraid I don't see much value or potential for development there (unless you have specific ideas). For instance, I don't even know what "craf this" means. It looks like a typo. Start by researching what keywords are selling and try to go for THOSE names. I hope this helps.
