Where do I start?

Hey, guys.

I'm a newbie with domaining and I'd like a bit of advice on how to go about it.

I've been browsing through expireddomains.net and I've seen a few good domains, but I'm not sure what I should register and what to do once I have the domain.

How long does it take before getting an offer? What sort of domains and keywords are the best to register? Does it matter if it's .com/.net/.org, and which is worth the most?

I wouldn't buy anything until you are confident in what you are doing. Which means hanging out here and reading for at least 2-3 months. As to how soon you will receive an offer? That depends on how good your instincts are in acquiring the right domain. The answer is, how long is a piece of string? From 1 day until never. You would be better advised to already have a plan to sell the domain you acquire, before you buy it. It depends on your budget and how much you are prepared to lose. But I wouldn't buy more than 5 domains, until you have shown some success in actually selling at least one. Then rinse and repeat.
