Lol, I really despise the stupid way Buy Domains keeps you from talking to the owner about a realistic price. They want at least $1,000 for a domain worth one third of that, and there's no way to offer less than $1,000, what a joke... Ah well, I can wait 6 years like the last one, and pick it up when the owner drops the domain because no one is apparently interested in it.

Frustrating!

Hmmm....come to think of it.... pay over $1,000, wait for years to try and pick it up, or..... .us version is $6.95, available now.

Well, then.

Couldn't you do a WHOIS lookup and find out the registars information and email him or call him?

If you have a good development idea spend the 7 bucks and develop the other extension. If you are just speculating walk on down the road.

I saw an ad on TV for Hitachi the other night: Hitachi.us. .us isn't a bad alternative, IMHO.

.us that badboy ;)

I'm trying to contact the owner of a .com that I have a developed .us for, but I, like you, am having a hard time getting past some whois proxy methinks.

In any event, can't beat an available reg for quality names in rising ( :imho: ) extensions :)

http://www.Hitachi.us

Great site. A very interesting, and logical use of the .US extension for a large worldwide corporation. A direct URL to their American operations and products. Quick, easy and convenient.

If it is a thing that doesn't allow you to contact the owner, that I think is the only way. Well, if they just keep it high, they will loose money more than gain becuase no one will buy it!

If the owner wants to sell it , and you can cut Buy Domains out of the picture do it.
I'm not sure if they have exclusives on the domain or not, but most of the time it's a hard thing to prove. Use your best judgement.

More than likely its BuyDomains that actually owns the domain.

with a marketing scheme like that it makes you wonder how they sell any domains at all :) People that wouldn't know any better are probably the only ones buying domain names overpriced by that much..
