I tried drop catching a domain at both Snapnames and Namjet. When this was done in the past, one or the other usually wins.

The successful service would award me the domain or inform when the auction is started if there were multiple bidders.

This time Namejet indicates "Auction Pending". Snapnames are says to auction starts today.

It is like both drop catching services are claiming to caught this domain. What is happening?

IMHO, you may never know the truth. I'm surprised you give money to Snapnames for any reason. Here, read this:
http://domainerpro.com/snapnames-admits-employee-fraud/

Thousands of auctions and millions of dollars and years of shill-bidding. You give them money now?

Read the article, then ponder this point: No one involved ever went to jail, as far as I know. That's an incredible insult to the rest of us, and YOU give these creeps more money. Says something about you, certainly.

Anyway, if you ever shed the stank from swimming in the domain auction cesspool with the scum, you'll probably be respected at some level.

It says he's more serious about domaining than you. Most domainers, that actually do this for a living, do well, are smart etc. participate in NJ and Snap auctions. It's where you can get the best deals/domains. That's just reality. Your reply had nothing to do with his post. Talking about something that happened almost 10 years ago. You were just looking for another thread to post your usual off topic stuff.

You don't seem to have a problem misleading your readers here, and that's problematic for a moderator, owner, or operator of a domain forum. Here's a quote from the article I cited above: "Bidding affected approximately five percent of total SnapNames auctions since 2005, most of which occurred between 2005 and 2007."

Hmmm, 2007 seems to be the last year of admitted fraud. Today is 2014, that's a difference of 7 years according to my abacus, not "approximately 10 years" as you proffered. Whatever. Oh, you mean the fraud STARTED 10 years ago. It seems you are correct there, according to that article. And the end of the fraud 2007? Did Snapnames provide that data? Gee, I'm gullible enough to believe what Snapnames tells me about the extent of the fraud perpetrated in their tent.

And again you mis-speak when you say my reply had nothing to do with the original post. Obviously, to me, you don't seem to have a problem watching your members here entering into quicksand. Sure says a lot about you. That is also relevant here. What we don't know about you is probably also relevant here, IMHO.

Let's not pull any punches. You think me the jerk, and I think you the jerk. At least both sides of the issue are presented, some of the time.

Remember all, as far as I know, no one ever went to jail because of the Snapnames fraud. J.B. Lions doesn't seem to think that fact is relevant. I can guarantee you that if you or I stole that kind of $$$, we'd be a quarter of the way through our 20 year jail sentence by now.

Snapnames has been sold twice since their shill bidding mess.
