Hi Guys,
imo animal/bird domains are great & cool for branding.
I have always wanted a really nice animal com for this reason.
They go for a bomb, too!
I have collected quite a few of these type mobis from the start.
The very best ones were took via tm or held back as premium.
I managed to get some nice ones:

kestrel.mobi
orangutan.mobi
buzzard.mobi
warthog.mobi
macaw.mobi

etc
(have quite a few more)
interested to see if anyone else got any, or indeed sees the potential in these type of mobis too.
added bonus too, because generic, may get some firms who own the com or didnt manage to get the com, offer on these? imho
i was regging these instead of just high ovt phrases or words

Don't see much value in those, sorry. If the keywords were for high search animals such as fish, or dogs or cats, then a good value. Those names though are not. Toads, buzzard, warthog? I guess the good ones are gone by now?

I would generally agree with that assessment, although I suppose you might get lucky with one as a brandable name...

The examples you use:
dog,dogs, cat, cats etc .mobi are all premium .mobis witheld in May 2006

The examples of mine are only singular. IMO can only work if singular & as i said, as brandable domains, or as a premium equivalent to something like 'warthog mining.com', for example
Forget overture, that fits one area of domaining.
There are many examples where companies use an animal for their name & most would kill for the com.
Hopefully we may see mobi as the second choice.
Other examples i own are armadillo, woodpecker etc
Now there are so many companies that use animals, birds etc as their emblem/name ,& the beauty is there are so many, because it is generic & as long as is a different product/area, they are allowed to use.
Makes the domain pretty safe from reverse hijacking too.
I wasn't looking to develop a site about warthogs for example, lol
Anyone else got any hidden away?

I am not sure how the mobile web will suit dogs, but I did not want to miss the opportunity. Dog sales are huge on the internet and dog breeders where very early users of the internet.

I was thinking along the same lines but then I took a look at the OVT and toad is not too shabby at 9,465

Yes, I see Arnies point and for specualting it's not a bad of a idea, now that I see that is what you are going for. One name picked up and sold in the future will more than pay for the rest registered. Thanks for clarifing as I was thinking you were laying out much money and it may not pay off.

Dochlaggie has some very nice picks. The pet cam names are good picks too.
