I decided to reg some Spanish mobis. I have often found that sometimes there are gems that are overlooked because everyone is focused on English domains:

Tell me what you think of these recent regs I made:

ChatGratis.mobi (Free Chat)

FotoGratis.mobi (Free Photo), plural not available

TraductorGratis.mobi (Free Translator)

I do not speak Spanish, maybe a few comments from someone who does would also be appreciated.

Thanks

SKG,
I believe chat is charla or charlar. I don't speak fluent Spanish, so I would double check from the experts here.

Thanks,
A

Hi A,

You might be right. I did a search on overture for gratis and chat gratis came up as what people are typing in and not charla or charlar even though charla could very well mean chat, not sure. I tend to go with exactly what people are searching for and in this case it maybe a mix of English/Spanish or Spanglish, lol.

After a quick search this morning, I found there are some good keywords still available for Spanish and German language domains. I'm working on translating a few right now, and might even register some of them. You have to be very careful though... if you don't speak the language, make sure to double-check your translations, at multiple sources if possible.

There is another word "platicar" or platica that is also used for chat or discussion.

Hello, I'm Spanish (from Spain, obviously :) ), so my Spanish is good.

- We use the English term "chat" much more than "charla" to refer to that service; so "chatgratis.mobi" is much more appropiate than "charlagratis".

- "fotogratis.mobi" is not so good because is the singular word and sounds a little "rare".

- "ultimo.mobi" translates as "last.mobi". I just don't know what you can use that name for, however "misfotos.mobi" is a good domain name (translates as "mypictures.mobi" or "myphotos.mobi")

- My mexican friend, you know "platicar" is a synonimous of "hablar" (talk), but it's only used in Latinoamerica. In Spain we don't use that verb, we use "hablar".

- "pasaportes.mobi" is a generic plural word for "passports" but I don't know how to make money with it.

- "modelo.mobi" is easy to translate, just remove the "o" and you have it: "model.mobi". I think it's a good word.

If you need further assistance with the Spanish language (from Spain) don't hesitate to ask me.

Hope to have helped you a little.

Dave, "comerciales.mobi":
comerciales can be translated into English like "sellers" (meaning something like "sale executives", plural) or like "TV spots" in Spanish from Latinoamerica (not from Spain).

- "horoscopo" is a very good word. Here there is many people who wants to know what her/his daily horoscopo says. Every newspaper (printed and web-based) includes a horoscopo section. A few examples:

http://horoscopo.abc.es
http://www.elmundo.es/horoscopo
http://www.larazon.es/horoscopo.htm
http://www.terra.es/horoscopo

Also, there are plenty of horoscopo related stuff on some TV channels at late night

guillermobt,

If you don't mind, I want to send you a couple Spanish word names by PM, to confirm I got them correct, before I register them.

:)
